Frontier Historical Museum
Tom_Fields Says:
This small museum shows a typical early Colorado house, with its living room, kitchen, furniture, etc. It gives you some idea how people lived in 19th century Glenwood Springs. Opened in 1972, it serves as a valuable resource for historical research.
Glenwood Canyon Hanging Lake
Tom_Fields Says:
Probably the most popular attraction at Glenwood Canyon is this beautiful mountain lake. The hike up to it is short but fairly strenuous, with a lot of loose rocks, roots, gravel, and low branches. But it's easily worth it. The lake is a special place. It's been designated...
Glenwood Canyon
Tom_Fields Says:
This is one of Colorado's most spectacular canyons. You drive right through it if you approach Glenwood Springs from Denver. It has a number of places to visit. With my time rather limited, I chose the trail to Hanging Lake (see the next tip).
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park
Tom_Fields Says:
A great outing for a family, this park is just off I-70. From the entrance, take the Iron Mountain Tramway up to the top. From there, you can ride the rides, take a tour of the caverns, have lunch at the cafe, and enjoy fine views of the valley below. The caverns are the...

If you are driving through Glenwood Springs, especially after a day of skiing, hiking or mountain biking, stop for a couple of hours and soak in the hot springs spa and pool. They have two very large pools, one at 104 degrees for soaking and one incredibly large pool at 90...
Hike to Hanging Lake
yellowbell Says:
It was a steep uphill hike of 1.1 miles to see the waterfalls of the Hanging Lake. It was tiring but it was worth it even for a non-hiker like me. It didn't matter if I had to hold on to the hand rails, almost crawl to reach the next stone up or sit to go down safely.
Glenwood Caverns
yellowbell Says:
Glenwood Caverns can be enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Even if you're not into theme park adventure, you can just take the gondola ride and walk the expanse of the park. The 4300 foot and 7-minute tram ride affords panoramic views of Glenwood Canyon and Colorado river.For...

Caverns
Planner4031 Says:
These caverns were "recommended" by some travel agent on the Glenwood Springs brochure. The best part about the caverns is the tram ride to and from, and of course the view from the top. If its possible to just pay for the tram ride-do it-and have a drink at the hilltop bar....

Peppo Nino: How about Italian!
painterdave Says:
Step back into the 50's and visit Peppo Ninos of Glenwood Springs. The atmosphere is dark and quaint. Their menu is your basic Italian fare, nothing fancy, but it is prepared well.If you need a change from fast food, and the brewery fare, this might be to your liking.

As we were going thru the town we noticed a sign for Doc Holiday's grave site. Made a quick u-turn and was very pleased that we did. It is a little hike up a mountain and there is Doc's grave. People have left interesting memontos such as playing cards, brandy bottle, and flowers. Definetly was worth the time to see this little piece of history, especially if you are going or have been to Tomstone. As Doc would say
'Your a daisy if you do'.
