Granby is a small town of about 1800 (up 16% since 2000) located at the intersection of US Highways 34 and 40 in North Central Colorado. It is near the Southwest Entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. It is much different than Estes Park (by the Eastern Erntrance in that it feels much more casual and not as ritzy. Lake Granby is nearby and offers many outdoor recreataional activities and several lodges and Bed and Breakfasts. Granby was founded in 1904 along the route of the Denver, Northwestern & Pacific Railroad, and was named for Denver lawyer Granby Hillyer.

    Maverick's Grille

by Basaic Written Sep 19, 2013

$20 as of August 2013. Maverick's Grille is a combination restaurant and bar with a decent atmosphere and a varied menu including soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees like steak, a meatloaf with a variety of game meats, chicken, Mexican food, and fish. They have a good list of beers and wines and a full bar too. Hours are 11 AM to 9 PM, Monday through Wednesday; 7 AM to 9 PM Thursday and Sunday and 7 AM to 10 PM Friday and Saturday.

Favorite Dish: I had a very good blackened trout with lime cilantro rice and mixed vegetables. Well prepared and well presented.
