Luggage and bags: If you plan on any outdoor activities - plan on using a backpack.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Comfortable hiking shoes, tear-away pants (to protect your legs, but be able to tear away if it gets too hot), rain panchos, sunglasses

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Lip balm, first aid kit, *sunscreen!!*, moisturizing lotion, *insect repellant!!* (this is more for the Grand Mesa which has an incredible Mosquito population in summer months), your standard toiletries and other medical needs..

Photo Equipment: Bring extra batteries for your gear if you think you'll need them.. Photography places are hard to come by (Gene Taylors Sporting Goods would be a recommendation).. While Gene Taylors has a vast supply of unique and specialized film equipment, they can be a bit pricey - so plan accordingly..

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Sunscreen!! Also - Colorado is filled with various wildlife.. It would be a good idea to keep a can of bear repellant or at least some pepperspray just to be safe.. Cellular phone service is not always available, especially in many of the outlying, rural areas of western Colorado - so let people know where you're going to be travelling.. Abide by the current fire laws when building camp-fires..

Miscellaneous: Portable handheld GPS units are incredibly valuable if you plan on doing any hiking off many of the beaten paths.. Plan on toting at least an extra days worth of food or water for every day of your hike.. This may seem a bit over-protective, but every year we hear about how people have become lost and stranded in our public lands -- plan ahead!!
