  • 4 modes of travel: airplane service to Walker Field, utilizing the highway system of US Hwy 50 (not to mention the ever popular Interstate 70), Amtrak rail service, and Greyhound bus lines.
While others have posted that the public transportation sucks in Grand Junction - please keep in mind that before 2 years ago we didn't even HAVE a bus system.. There are several routes all over Grand Junction and some of the neighboring towns and it keeps getting better.. There is Sunshine Taxi in lieu of the bus system, not to mention several rental car agencies available.. Probably the best way to get around town if you're up to it is: bike riding.. Several trails exist for your convenience..

  • You can fly to Grand Junction airport from Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Las Vegas. Also, amtrack, but if you are coming in the winter you should plan on getting 4x4 truck because you have to cross the majestic Colorado Rockies.
By Car!! There bus system sucks. It is new, and very bad.

There is a terminal in Grand Junction and believe it is used a lot by locals. They are used to taking a bus rather than the cost of flying, and it is more easily affordable. The location is by the Museum of the West, across the street on Ute at 5th St

I did not come here view plane, but the convenience to do so, and maybe stage a trip form here saves many hours and miles form where you may come from. It is in the middle of a lot of parks, and middle of nowhere else to fly into. Denver is 250 miles away. The airport looks to be expanded and brand new.
