There is a nice memorial dedicated to all the nation's veterans located on the Phillips County Courthouse grounds. I feel it is important to remember the sacrifices made by our veterans and their contributions to our freedom and our way of life.

Holyoke is a town of about 2250 (unchanged since 2000) located at the intersection of US Highways 6 and 385 in Phillips County in Northeast Colorado near the border with Nebraska and Kansas. Holyoke was established sometime prior to 1890 and was named after Holyoke, Massachusetts. Holyoke is the county seat of Phillips County which was named for R. O. Phillips a secretary of the Lincoln Land Company which organized several towns in Colorado. The Phillips County Courthouse was completed in 1935 using the Moderne style of architecture and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Holyoke Restaurants

  • by Orca5959 Updated Jul 6, 2008

Good Chinese is not what you expect in a small farming community on the high plains of Colorado, so when my folks suggested the new Chinese place in town, I was skeptical. However, we were treated to an excellent variety of tasty dishes, presented in an attractive manner. Service was friendly and quick. The restaurant is tastefully decorated but not overdone.

Favorite Dish: Walnut Shrimp was on special the day my family was in and we went crazy over it. We went back and ordered it again the next day!
