Started in 1879, the church was dedicated on New Year’s Day, 1880. The steeple is a masterpiece of intricate carpentry, a web like interweaving of timbers built to last for centuries. The spire is a directional landmark. A great bell weighing 3,026 pounds is called “St. Mary” and was installed in 1885. The prominent “Unsinkable Molly Brown” was married in the church on September 1, 1886. The church is generally unlocked.
I don't know if Horace and Augusta actually had any children - all the references to Horace Tabor on the web refer to Horace and Baby Doe. Anyway, the Tabor house does have a child's room.
This photo of Leadville was taken from the road leading back into town from the Matchless Mine. It's rugged country.
