Main Street Brewery and Restaurant: Best place for a brew - Cortez

    Cliff Palace, Mesa Verde

Updated in 2011: still open and now has a website:

We didn't eat here but stopped in for a couple of their microbrews: very good stuff. They have nine crafted ales and lagers on tap, and a reasonably priced lunch and dinner menu ranging from sandwiches to steaks.

Nice, comfortable place for a sit-down after a day on the mesas (I don't have a picture).

Ranger Talks: Night Time In Mesa Verde

They are not too afraid of cars and people

If you have never camped or stayed in a National Park you might not realize that there IS something to do at night that might be interesting. The Park Rangers give planned and organized talks over a large range of subject. In Mesa Verde there might be two or three different areas featuring all different subjects. So when you check in, visit the camp store or visit the museum you can find out more information as to what subjects they might be covering that night. Each night is different so you should at least be able to find one interesting evening talk.
    The cost? Free

there's nothing better than warming up by the campfire with some spirits or as we did one of the nights we drove down to Cortez to see a movie
