Okay, so it's been around forever and it's not a high end bar in the least. But it's still my favorite bar in America. Sit at the bar on a cold, snowy, winters night, and you'll make friends with all the local mountain men in a heartbeat!
Dress Code: no dress code
The Pioneer Inn, The Wolftongue Brewery, The Sundance Cafe and The Acoustic Coffehouse all have live music on alternating nights. Acid Jazz, Bluegrass, Folk, and good old Rock all get their turn here.
The difference between say a bar in Ned as opposed to a bar down in Boulder is the people. Up here people are just plain different. They choose to live up here to get away from the culture down in Boulder. They seem to be a bit rougher and not so polished and a little friendlier. They are down to earth types. It's mountain culture the way it's used to be.
Dress Code: pretty much anything goes as long as you are comfortable. You could be in a suit (highly unlikely though) while standing next to a guy who made his pants and coat from Buckskin. Don't laugh! I've seen it many times! People just don't care about what they wear as long as it's doing it's job. A good hint is to dress down though-jeans and whatever. Just don't dress flashy and you'll be fine.
