Get off the beaten track and view the beautiful scenery. There are many wonderful hikes to take that are relatively easy. The views will be well worth the time and effort.
Fondest memory: When I am away from Pagosa I miss the opportunity to hike the mountains at a relatively low elevation but with scenery that rivals anything that I have seen at 10,000 feet and above elsewhere.
Visit The Springs!. There's many different pools of different temperatures and it's open all night. It's practically a theme park of hot springs. Across the street is the older hot springs that is the more authentic but is pretty funky. The mineral water swimming pool is kind of unique though. Besides the springs, Pagosa also has hunting, fishing, skiing at Wolf Creek, hiking, etc.
Fondest memory: Soaking in the springs while it was snowing at night. They even pipe hot water through the handrails.
Fondest memory: On an outing sponsored by the school I attend to the Wemanuchee Wilderness (sp) we stopped, on the way back at a hot Springs near Pagosa Springs. We had just come back from four days of hiking in the wilderness, beautiful beyond description. The peaceful hot springs were welcome to our tired bodies. What a great start to Freshman year in College...
