Penrose used to be a major source of Apples ~ via Apple Orchards. They still celebate an American festivus known as Apple Day. Very homespun!
Did some fishing at the Hollow years ago, shot some guns, did the four-wheelin' thing, saw a mountain man redevous reenactment, got my truck stuck in the mud. Use to be a great place to watch submarine races.
A nice little coffee and pastry stop on Highway 50 in the small town of Penrose, Colorado. Old West flavor and style, this little den will suit your highway awakening needs and sensiate your palates with tasty goodies. One of my favorite pitstops in the area. Also has local art and crafts. Definite place to stop. Rating: 4 stars out of 5.
On sale at the local Kwik-Stop, under the sign of the speeding hare- you can fill up your tank, wash your truck, and get some delicious muffins for the road!
