Favorite thing: Pueblo, 85 miles south of Denver and 35 miles south of Colorado Springs is very laid, small and tranquil.
advantages:
-Good recreation: many waterworld like places for some reason
-Nice small lakes, that you can swim or boat in on the west side of the town
-Go to the farms if you visit, excellent melons in neighboring otero county and tons of apples in the western part of the county
-Very nice riverwalk on the river
-60% hispanic, so many good mexican resturants(in the southern part) if you pass through, better than Denver's mexican resturant
disadvantages:
-Small
-Is a former steel town
-Kind of dirty
Id stay overnight passing through on your way too Texas or New Mexico, there are many cheap hotels along hwy 50, that are about half as much as Denver

Favorite thing: Avoid the North side, it's always undergoing road construction, and makes for stressfull driving.
See the city's parks. Mineral Palace and City Park are very nice. The Zoo at the city park is nice also.
Fondest memory: Pueblo isn't too large or too small. It's a nice town to browse around in. The shops on Union St. are very nice. The Sangre De Cristo Arts Center is very nice too.

Favorite thing: Most people Think that pueblo Colorado Is a mexican town but it is not. Ya there are a few mexican restaurants but there are more pizza hut's than taco bells! And their are more whites living in pueblo. I don't know one person who speaks Spanish and i am a pueblo native!
Fondest memory: My whole life is my fondest memory.
