Pueblo Things to Do

  • Pueblo Weisbrod Air Museum

Fred Weisbrod began collecting vintage military aircraft at the Pueblo airport (a World War II air base) in 1972. A group of veterans formed the Pueblo Historical Aircraft Society in 1985, to help preserve Weisbrod's collection. The planes were moved inside two old hangars. Since then, the collection has grown, and now includes some other military...

  • The Riverwalk

Downtown Pueblo's most beautiful attraction is the Riverwalk. Not quite equal to the one in old San Antonio, but still worth a visit. It's very enjoyable by day or night.

  • Coffee Beans Clean Jeans

A little coffee shop meets laundromat where you can eat, drink, and enjoy free wifi while awaiting your clothes to wash and dry. With an electronic guage above the door - you can see when your laundry is done without stepping away from your coffee to check. Friendly staff and clean establishment. The coffee and drinks seem to be all pre-made, but...

  • Stay Away - Pueblo, Colorado RiverWalk

This place is a DUD and tourist trap. Pueblo RiverWalk - http://www.puebloharp.com/ the cookie store was a waste of money. The brownie tasted awful, the snickerdoodles, peanut butter, "special" mother's day cookies, were all disgusting. The whole cookie store was overpriced for such nasty treats. Where did these people learn how to bake? The Pueblo...

  • ATV Park

West of town is a city park that is just open desert with some hills, used for motorcycle and ATV fun. It is pretty big, and the time my daughter took me there with the ATV's, it was empty but for one trail bike. My son in law broke three ribs there another time.

  • Bishops Castle

Not in Pueblo, but over an hour away in the mountains. Pueblo is still about the closest reference point. Built by an eccentric individual over 20 years, and still under construction. Bishop has had trouble with many government entities and has signs posted througout the castle area describing his problems. But still very welcoming to the public....

Pueblo is a pretty quiet town , but nice to walk around in. The River Walk is a focal point of the center of the city and next to the restored area of Union Street and Victoria Street. It is not long, but quite pleasant.

  • Downtown River Walk

Pueblo is restoring it's downtown area. It has just restored the Arkansas River to it's original location and built a beatiful river walk along it. Often there are festivities to attend. Other times it's just a beatiful, peaceful place to walk along at a leisurely pace and enjoy the sights.

Pueblo Restaurants

  • Don't waste your time/money!

Near the Riverwalk, Pueblo, CO..a little hole in the wall Bistro - on first glance, quaint/charming decor. Very small-seats maybe 25-30. Mix of Italian/German on the menu. The table cloth had several dust/bits of something all over it. I brushed most aside as I sat down-asked the waiter about it who said the air filter (pointed to a unit in the...

  • Below Average Cuisine (Mexican)

Searching for a new restaurant in Pueblo for Mexican food, I stopped hoping to find good tasting food with a menu that has lots of choices. What I found was a very limited menu, with few combination plates. I finally chose the tamale and chili relleno plate. The food tasted okay, but the whole restaurant had the feel that they needed an update on...

  • Awesome Sushi!

Small, family owned, sushi bar/steak house. Nicely decorated, polite, friendly staff. Delicious fare, for a moderate price. Their boats are huge, and meal presentation is quite beautiful. They have a visual menu of all the different types of sushi/sashimi they serve. They also have wonderful mongolian barbeque, and pretty tasty miso soup. Your...

  • Good atmosphere and beer

Another VTer recommended the vegetarian boxty, so as my spouse is veg., we had to try it. Food was good, but for most of us, Irish food is fairly plain, not much spice used. So, I suspect that what we had was pretty authentic. There were six of us, so we tried a lot of different Irish items, and everyone enjoyed what they had. The menu also has...

  • More Great Italian Food!

They have 10 different routes that start downtown and will take you to all parts of the city. The bad part is that they only run once an hour from 6am to 6pm Monday thru Saturday. The...

Pueblo What to Pack

  • by zora55 Updated Mar 15, 2007

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Bring sunscreen, and lots of water during the summer as the temperatures tend to climb over 100 degrees. Bring a heavy coat, gloves, hat, tire chains, and extra funds with you during the winter- it gets very cold; and as of this last year tends to snow and blow A LOT. You could get stuck here. Best times to visit- spring and fall.
