A simple little local cafe featuring a wide range of sandwiches, wraps and salad. The homemade soup was quite good as well.
They also sell ice cream by the scoop, and the scoops are HUGE.
Basically, after a long drive over Independence Pass, the Windspirit was a welcome sight for some tired and hungry travellers.
One funky quirk.....they seem to have a "thing" for Ralph Waldo Emerson poetry. Several of his verses line the walls of the cafe.
Favorite Dish: I had a "Colorado Wrap", basically turkey, avocadoes, peppers, cheese, muchrooms and a garlic cream-cheese filling. Quite good.
My daughter had a multi-cheese grilled sandwich on whole grain, and some delicious homemade potato and ham soup.
My wife also had the soup, and a "half deli sandwich". (one of the menu specials is cup of soup and a half sandwich, a nice size in my wife's opinion)
