La Tour: Perfection!
La Tour is an award-winning contemporary French American restaurant located in the heart of the Vail Village. Executive chef and owner of La Tour, Paul Ferzacca, delights customers daily with his mouth-watering cuisine, which continually receives rave reviews from the culinary press. Chef Ferzacca, an honoree of the James Beard House in New York, has upgraded La Tour’s menu and has established a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list. La Tour has been voted by Vail Daily readers: “Best French Restaurant in Vail Valley,” “Best Food – Regardless of Price” and “Most Amazing Restaurant Service.” For more information go to www.latour-vail.com.
I can see why La Tour has quickly gained the reputation of being "where the chefs go to eat." The food quality is excellent and complimented by an excellent wine list (a Wine Spectator Award Winning list). The interior decor is warm and contemporary. We had an excellent overall dining experience at La Tour and it has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Vail.
Favorite Dish: Dover Sole Meuniere - haricots vert, baby creamer potatoes, lemon brown butter sauce. The flavors were amazing, the brown butter sauce had a hint of lemon and made the dish absolutely heavenly.

Pepe's of Vail: DANGER!!!!!!!!!!
Truly bizzare story out of the Denver Post about this place: Seems a couple went in, ordered a bottle of wine, hated it, and were trying to refuse the bottle - something they have every right to do in any GOOD restaurant, and the manager called the police because they refused to pay for it! Friends, I own four restaurants and have worked as a chef for thirty years and I can say this unequivocally: YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE WINE JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T LIKE IT. PERIOD. Pepe's loses NOTHING by taking the bottle back because their distributor credits back bad bottles. And calling the cops! Bush league! DINERS BEWARE!
George's: Skip George's
Alright, this place had a good gimmick ("George's" so everywhere you looked there were pictures of famous people named George.... Clooney, Curious George, Washington, King George, etc...) and the decor was cool, but the food wasn't all that great. We got steaks but they weren't anything special.
Venadetta's: Pizzas galore
Northern Italian fare, serving Vail for over 20 years, it is one of Vail's favorite restaurants.
Favorite Dish: Th only restaurant open until 2 am serving pizza and late night munchies.
Excellent pizzas and other dishes, Vendetta's is a long-time favorite in the valley.
Favorite Dish: Lasagna and pizza... great after a long day on the slopes.

Alpenrose: German Cuisine
These guys know German food. I highly recommend eating here. Theirs is some of the better German food I've found in the US, which isn't surprising, since they're in Vail.

Ludwig's is a fancy French restaurant located in the Sonnenalp resort. The food was very excellent, authentic French cooking, but the French pastry chef really made the meal.
