    More shots of Vail village

by goingsolo Updated Sep 25, 2004

Vail's architecture resembles that of a European village. Lodges, condominiums and other structures emulate the Bavarian style and flower boxes filled with colorful blossoms complete the look.

There is a shop in Vail Villiage that has an interesting host in the window. Isis the dog lays in the window most of the day and collects donations for the humane society.

The first big snowstorm of the season. It was also the second day of ski season and the first time I saw snow fall.

    Vail village

Vail village has lots of restaurants and bars and a few of the smaller hotels. It is closed to cars except for the shuttle buses. A great place to go after skiing.

Lyonshead is the main ski area. There is a shuttle bus throughout Vail village that will take you over to Lyonshead.

Even if you don't ski or snowboard (but then why are you here???), just take the lift up to the slopes, at least for the view!

Take the gondola to the top of the mountain, enjoy the views and then hike or bike down.
It's beautiful and taking the gondola up the mountain makes it so easy (especially on your lungs!).

The town of Vail is a relaxing place during the summer. A stream goes through the town making it even more beautiful and relaxing.
