Thataway Cafe: Best for dessert. Fantastic Apple Crisp

  • The service here is hit or miss. The waste of time at the hostess station rates right up there with the redsox fans. Although I've got a feeling she wasnt the regular girl. Our waitress however was quite fantastic.

    Well I've been back here again and my stance stays. The hostesses here are clueless and honestly quite bad. Where they suggest to seat you is without thought and flatly idiotic. I could really do without them. But once again the desserts and waitress make up for it.

    They no longer have the apple crisp on the menu and as such I doubt I'll go back again unless its with a group. But I can recommend the Cookie Pie and even the plain apple pie.

    The steak sandwich was very blah. All you could taste was the grill. So boy oh boy was I surprised when I tried the apple crisp dessert. One of the best I've ever had and worth the trip here for that alone.

  • Casual continental restaurant on the corner of Greenwich Ave. featuring burgers, salads, pasta & sandwiches. The outdoor tables are nice.

    I've been coming here for years. It's a nice restaraunt/bar. When you first enter there is a nice bar area on the left with lots of stools and tables. On the right side is the dining room with lots of seating. In the summer/spring months when the weather is nice they have tables on the large patio for dining. The wait staff is so so. Most times the hostess is clueless but we have had some good waitresses.

    I have come here for many a happy hour after work, a meal before a movie or just dessert. Their menu has the usual bar/restaurant choices. The bar area is normally a sea of people on the weekends but it's lots of fun.

    Happy Hour is 4pm-7pm , Monday-Friday. They have quesadillas, mini nachos, cheese sliders, potato skins, chicken tenders and chili cheese fries. The Drinks are: $4.50 domestic bottled beers, $3 domestic Draft Beers and drinks $4.

    I adore the nachos. They are delicious and pilled high with chili ( I ask for them to leave it on the side), cheese, guacamole, sour cream and salsa. This is my choice when hanging out with friends or co-workers. It's easy to share and fills you up. I've had the steak which is very good and the burgers.

    My favorite was the Apple Crisp. I consider it the Best Apple Crisp I have ever had. I brought Chris here after a movie and he simple loved the Apple Crisp. He wasn't thrilled with his steak sandwich though. The apple crisp is no longer on the menu to our dissapointment.

    Our last visit here was strictly for dessert. Chris had the apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. He was very dissapointed that the apple crisp was no longer available. I had the Tollhouse cookie pie which was outrageous. It was chocolately delicious....I ate the whole portion...Yum!
