Things to Do

Bow Tie Plaza 3

Bow Tie Plaza 3, Greenwich

1 Review  This is one of those threatre chains that is not the main one in town. A smaller selection than the giants they make up for it by having matinee prices until 5pm on most days including Saturday. Have only been here once so far. Saw Harry Potter 5 for the second time here.

Bruce Museum

Bruce Museum, Greenwich

msbrandysue Says:  The Bruce Museum is featured in 1000 Things to See Before You Die: USA Edition. It's well known for Connecticut's Art Trail. I visited on a Tuesday when admission was FREE. When you enter you can continue straight ahead to the art area or head right for the science exhibits....

Planet Pizza

Planet Pizza, Greenwich

1 Review  Planet Pizza is a typical pizza joint with some tables. They serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, calzones, pastas, italian dishes and pizza of course. The menu has a variety of classic pizzas such as pepperoni, mushroom and sausage as well as specialty pizza like baked ziti pizza, sicilian pizza...

Thataway Cafe

Thataway Cafe, Greenwich

2 Reviews  The service here is hit or miss. The waste of time at the hostess station rates right up there with the redsox fans. Well I've been back here again and again and my stance stays. The hostesses here are clueless and honestly quite bad. Where they suggest to seat you is without thought and flatly...

Burgers Shakes n Fries

Burgers Shakes n Fries, Greenwich

2 Reviews  This place is tiny. They have two counters and that's it for seating areas but the food is amazing. I am so glad I finally tried this place.I assure you the burgers here are worth the trip as I have learned. We are constantly coming back about once a week now and really have to say that now that I...

Panda Pavillion

Panda Pavillion, Greenwich

1 Review  Panda Pavillion is right over the border from Portchester on Route 1(Putnam Avenue) so it's very easy to get here. The place is small with tables scattered throughout the dining room. In the summer there is an outdoor patio for dining. When you are seated there is a nice basket of crunchy noodles...

Sundown Saloon

Sundown Saloon, Greenwich

1 Review  Sundown Saloon to me is the kind of place I wish were my local, at least when I wanted to have a local. A very relaxed and comfortable bar in the center of the room with tables around the edges you will always feel at home here. The highlight though is their happy hour. Monday to Friday from 4pm...

Greenwich Lobster House

Greenwich Lobster House, Greenwich

1 Review  It was a rainy night and we were in the mood for a snack. Liz suggested this place. She has been here many times before and likes the food. This was my first experience here and it was pretty good. We walked in from the bar entrance, The bar area is a nice size with prenty of stools, small tables...

Mackenzie's Grill Room

Mackenzie's Grill Room, Greenwich

1 Review  Neither Liz and I had been to Mackenzie's before but were set to meet up with some friends for drinks. We decided to get here early and grab a bite to eat. The place was in a strip mall which I let slide since I have been to good places before that were in bad locations. The bar area was tiny and...

Fairways at the Griff

Fairways at the Griff, Greenwich

1 Review  Fairways is the resturant of the Griff Country Club. We came here for a party to celebrate on of Liz's co-workers retirement. The place was bad; typical country club atmosphere but too small of a room to hold all the people in my opinion. We started with the cocktail hour on the inclosed terrace...

Transportation

Metro North Railroad

Metro North Railroad, Greenwich

1 Review  The Metro North Railroad serves Greenwich with fairly decent service. It is both an express stop and also an end of the line stop for many rush hour trains. Like all MNRR trains, there is no middle of the night service but the down time is only about 5 hours.

Walking Around Downtown Greenwich

Walking Around Downtown Greenwich, Greenwich

cjg1 Says:  Greenwich is full of areas that are not walkable: no side walks, private roads, wooded areas etc. The part of Greenwich that is walkable is Greenwich Avenue and Putnam Avenue (US!). there are sidewalks hee that make it easy to walk from shop to shop. Greenwich Avenue and...

Tiffany's

Tiffany's, Greenwich

1 Review  Tiffany & Co. have been making women happy for years with their jewelry and fine gifts. They have a nice selection of men's jewelry as well...but I'm not a jewlry guy. This particular Tiffany's is located right on Greenwich Avenue. The store is a nice size and the staff is very friendly. Liz is a...

Where are the Traffic Lights?

Where are the Traffic Lights?, Greenwich

cjg1 Says:  One of the first things I noticed in Greenwich is the lack of traffic lights down Greenwich Avenue. Many of the intersections have no traffic lights but have a police officer directing traffic. Fortunately for the cop, Greenwich Avenue is a one way street. It's just amazing...

cjg1 Says:  The town of Greenwich is known for their parking tickets. Make sure to feed the meter when you park to avoid a ticket being left on your windshield.

A town of privilege

A town of privilege, Greenwich

Greenwichnative Says:  Greenwich indeed is the wealthiest town in the United States. Some institutions, etc may have it rated at number two or three, but in fact there are more Business and Political leaders located in Greenwich than anywhere else in the country. It is a town to be proud of to say...
