The Blue Oar is one of those places that isn't advertised anywhere but still pulls a loyal crowd. If I hadn't read the article in 1000 Things to See Before You Die, USA Edition I never would have found this place.

The Blue Oar is right on the Connecticut River and could not have a more beautiful and relaxing setting. While I sat at the top of the bar I watched many people pull up in their boats and get some great seafood.

When you park down by the river you go up the stairs to place and pick up your order. Then you can go downstairs to eat on picnic tables or stay upstairs and eat at a small bar area.

There are no bathrooms so you have to walk up this tall hill to get to the bathrooms.

Their most popular choice would have to be the delicious lobster rolls. Lobsters and bread. I love that...simple, you know? And wow, so tasty.

But, beware, they only take cash, so make sure you have enough! And it's not that cheap, so make sure you have enough.

Favorite Dish: LOBSTER ROLLS!!!! The meat was so good and you get so much.
