    Across the street from the Capitol Building is the Court Building, which also houses several other government offices. The grounds are well maintained with annuals in summer.

    The Mark Twain House and Museum provides a tour of the Samuel Clemmons house and there is a museum attached to the property with some Tiffany art.

    Bushnell Park is quite lovely and a wonderful place to take a walk and take in the sights. We were lucky as it was only a short walk from our hotel.

    The arch was dedicated on September 17, 1886, --the anniversary of the Battle of Antietam--to honor the 4,000 Hartford citizens who served in the Civil War, and the 400 who died for the Union.
