Foxwoods Casino
PinkFloydActuary Says:
Foxwoods is enormous. It's not just a casino - it actually is several major casino floors under one roof (Rainmaker, Gread Cedar, Festival Slots, Grand Pequot, and MGM.) They have every game imaginable, and plenty of other things to do as well (tons of shopping and dining...
Titanic Special Exhibit
Gypsystravels Says:
Ferni had been wanting to check out this exhibit, so during a recent road trip we made this a stop. Ferni is a huge nautical and military buff. Anything to do with ships and military is a big draw to him. He knows almost everything there is to know about the Titanic and...
Fox Theatre
Gypsystravels Says:
Fox Theatre is where most of the concerts and events happen here in Foxwoods. If you plan to see any of the up coming events like concerts by Seal, Beyonce and the likes, this is where you'll most likely be watching it.I personally have not seen an event or concert here, but...
World Poker Tournaments
Gypsystravels Says:
World Poker Tour hits cities all over the US (and recently other coutries as well) and Foxwoods is one of the largest gaming rooms in the coutry. There are many tournamets that are held here, some small, some satelite tournamets to win a $10,000 spot (fee to enter a...
Festival Buffet: Buffet time!
PinkFloydActuary Says:
Ah, there's nothing that adds to my casino experience quite like a nice buffet. Having won a few $ at the machines, I wanted to win some more at the Festival Buffet. Lunch is $17 for an adult, and while that sounds on the high side, it is pretty reasonable for a good buffet....
Sports Stadium Bar & Grill: View a game while you eat
Gypsystravels Says:
We've been here a couple of times during our many visits to Foxwoods, sometimes for just food, and sometimes for just a quick drink. The restaurant/bar is quite large with a nice size bar. There are a few beers on tap as well as bottled beers. The bar has large tv screens...
Stadium Sports Bar & Grill: Stopping in for a drink
Gypsystravels Says:
We've been here before, for some food, but during our latest trip we stopped in for a quick beer. The restaurant/bar is quite large with a nice size bar. There are a few beers of tap as well as bottle beers. The bar has large tv screens opposite of eachother and is called...
Shrine: Shrine
Gypsystravels Says:
The Shrine is located in the MGM Grand here in the casino easily accessible by large corridors and walkways. The interior of the club is Asian inspired with some beautiful dark wood booths and beautiful couches with lantern hanging from the ceiling. You can also have a meal...
Hard Rock Cafe: We only had one drink here
Gypsystravels Says:
We weren't hungry, but we decided to stop in the Hard Rock and sit at the very nice bar for a few drinks. The Hard Rock is massive with a cavernous feeling, very high ceilings and of course all the memorabilia hanging on the walls. The bartender was quite nice and promptly...
Driving
Gypsystravels Says:
There are a few ways of getting to Foxwoods from the NYC metropolitan area (NJ, CT, NY) and most people will arrive by car. It's the easiest and fastest way of getting to the casino in my opinion, although some people will arrive in day tour buses. Our route to Foxwoods...
Hop on I-95 to Foxwoods
cjg1 Says:
Since this was a spur of the moment trip; we drove. We were already on I-95 in Connecticut so we kept heading North. We got off at exit 92 and then followed the signs to Foxwoods. It was about 8 miles from the Highway to the Casino. I-95 is always a fast drive and unless...

ATM Machines EVERYWHERE
Gypsystravels Says:
All over the casino you will see cash machines dispensing money to those wanting to loose their earnings in just a few hours. Let's face it, the odds of you actually hitting the jackpot or winning big are quite small, unless you play at the "sit & go" poker tables. The...
Smoking
cjg1 Says:
When we first entered Foxwoods I noticed the horrible smell of cigarette smoke. We tried to not let it bother us but at one point we were totally engulfed in the clouds of smoke from passers by. I know there wil never be such as thing as a totaly "Smke Free" casino but it's...
You Could Easily Spend a Bundle
Helpfulness
cjg1 5044 reviews
Face it Foxwoods is about gambling. They are there to take your money. Dazzle you with a nice setting, good food, good cocktails, some shopping and you are relaxed and ready to spend your cash. As anything else in life go to the casino with a set limit of how much you are willing to spend on gambling. If you plan ahead and stick to your set amount you won't go home broke.

Mohegan Sun Casino
PinkFloydActuary 828 reviews
A short 15 minute drive a way will take you to the other massive casino complex of the area, the Mohegan Sun. Here, there are three major casinos (Earth, Wind, and Sky.) As with Foxwoods, my first stop was to get a players card and my $10 of free play. I was getting smoked early, but made a strong comeback and walked away $34 to the positive.
I found walking around Mohegan Sun to be very impressive. There is really good air quality here, and the casinos are beautiful. Again, many shopping and dining options to choose from. I felt it was easier to navigate here, despite the massive size.
In the end, if you enjoy the casino life, Mohegan Sun is a place to visit!

Casino directory
Gypsystravels Says:
As with any large indoor facility, here in Foxwoods you will find directories that indicate your location and a listing of all the restaurants, bathroom facilities, different casinos and of course the shops. If you are looking for a particular store, or casino check out the...
Foxwoods Resort & Casino
Gypsystravels Says:
Foxwoods is one of the largest casinos in the world, it is massive. There is plenty to do here even if you aren't a gambler. There are some excellent dining choices, nightlife, concerts and special events that go on all year round. If you decide to spend the night, (and if...
Remembering where you park
Gypsystravels Says:
Because of the size of the casino, and because there are quite a few different parking lots, the Casino has come up with a very smart way to help drivers remember their parking location. On each parking wing you will find a these large Parking Reminder with tickets...
