Talk quickly and don't be afraid to goof on people
Most people in CT are very proud of their intelligence, and are fast talkers (just like people from Boston and New York). Be careful boasting your knowledge, because if you make a mistake, someone's likely to pick up on it. Also, if you talk very slowly to someone from CT, he or she may take it as a personal insult (unless, of course, you have an accent that would indicate that english isn't your first language, then they'll understand). People from the working class areas of CT are known for their bratty sense of humor. If you meet and become acquainted with locals, it is almost always safe to break the ice with a goof on yourself (and others once you get to know them)
