Norwalk Things to Do

  • Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum

I am a mansion buff and love to check them out whenever I get the chance. Unfortunately the mansion was closed when we got there. We were able to walk around the grounds and snap some pictures of the exterior of the mansion, which is impressive in itself. The gift shop was still open, or so I thought due to the door being wide open. It was actually...

  • The Maritime Aquarium

As usual, I have ants in my pants and just can't seem to sit still, so yesterday I gathered up the boys and headed out to Connecticut to see the Maritime Aquarium. This is a really cute aquarium, perfect for younger kids and kids who have never seen an aquarium before. There are a variety of exhibits including seals, meerkats, lorikeets, turtles,...

We first went to the Maritime Aquarium in the late 90s, pre-kids - I most remember the seal tank area near the entrance and not much else (did we even take pictures?)The Aquarium has since renovated and expanded, although the seals are still there. There's a touch tank, jellyfish, a regional fish exhibit, meerkats (what that has to do with the...

  • A Chocolate Lovers Dream

While walking around Norwalk, the boys and I came across Chocopologie. Of course we had to check it out, just because it had the word chocolate in it. We were not disappointed that we stopped in for a snack. We shared a fondue pot which was so yummy. It came with chunks of bananas, sliced strawberries and pieces of chocolate cake for dipping. The...

As soon as you enter the location there is a large bar-like counter where...

  • More than Just Chocolate.......

Chocopologie is one of the reasons I agree to come to Norwalk...the food is that good. Chocopologie is a small restaurant/chocolate store created by the famous master chocolatier Fritz Knipschildt. The location is tiny but the dining room is warm and cozy with tiny tables and booths. The decor is dimly lit with candles throughout for a romantic and...

Black Bear is always one of our "watering hole" stops every time we visit Norwalk. It's a great place to grab a few drinks and if you're hungry, some really yummy stuff as well. They have two sections with bars on both ends, but we normally stay at the smaller area where we find a spot at the bar enjoying a few drinks, a game and some good...
