Mohegan Sun is our casino of choice in the area; so much better than Foxwoods. Liz and I enjoy the shopping, dining and entertainment options that Mohegan Sun has to offer. The casino decor is more unique and eye pleasing with beautiful Native American Art, crystal sculptures and waterfalls. We enjoy spending a day or a weekend at the casino having fun with each other or friends. Check out their website http://www..mohegansun.com to see what events, concerts or shows are coming to Mohegan Sun.
Fondest memory: I love hanging out at Mohegan with our friends; having drinks, shopping, seeing concerts and enjoying each others company.
Mohegan Sun has a large variety of places to either grab a quick bit or a full meal. EVerything from steak, to seafood, burgers to quick meals as well as assortment of places to grab a snack. Here you will find something to please everyone.
Along with good eating, you will find an array of bars to have a refreshing drink, sit back and enjoy a frozen cocktail with your love, or a nice martini or even a wonderful glass of wine.
Ferni and I enjoy ourselves where ever we go and Mohegan Sun provides us with many things we enjoy in one location.
Fondest memory: We enjoy eating at varios places like Micheal Jordan's Steakhouse, Jasper White's Summer Shack, Bobby's Burger Place. Our favorite bars happen to be Leffingwells, Star Bar and The Feature Bar, where I had my fist big winning!
One thing I really like about Mohegan Sun (and Foxwoods) is that there is no fee to park your car in the various lots located in the casino. There are three main in door parking lots and there are various outdoor parking as well. If you happen to park away from the casino there are shuttle buses that pick you up and drop you off at the nearest casino entrance.
Ferni and I usually park at either Casino of the Wind or Sky, the Summer Entrance parking lot is now open as well.
You can also valet park your car (for a fee).
Throughout the casino there are signs posted stating that you MUST BE 21 and over to enter the gaming floor. This is the case in all casinos and they strickly enforce this rule.
Carry your ID with you to prove your age and you won't have any problems. Children are also strickly prohibited, even if it's just to "cut though" the gaming floor to get to the other side, so please adhere to the rules.
We spotted a couple with a child in a stroller oblivous to the fact that although they were over 21, the child was about 3. Security chased them and asked that they leave the gaming floor now!!
If you visit Mohegan Sun often (even if you don't) I would recommend that you stop by and sign up for the Player's Club Card. There are various levels and you will initially start off at the lowest level and work your way up depending on your spending rate.
As a sign up bonus you will usually get a small gift, either a baseball cap, key chain or something along those lines.
The good thing about the Player's Club card is that you get the inside scoop on concert tickets, events, and special promotions and deals and even comp'd for hotel stays.
Most people who come to Mohegan Sun are here to try a bit of luck at either the table or slots, but if you aren't into gambling, why not spend some time shopping at the may shops found here at Mohegan Sun.
If you do spend time playing, then maybe you can spend some of those winnings of some high end shopping. Ferni and I never leave any casino without treating ourselves to something we don't need but want, especially after some great winnings :)
The casino is quite large, and if you have a preference as to where you would like to go or need some assitance in finding a particular place to eat, drink, gamble, then the Casino directory is a good place to start.
The directories are located throughout the casion with location of everything you can find within the casino, including cash machine locations, bathrooms, restaurants, bars, entertainment, convenient shops, etc.
Because the casino is quite large, there are parking reminders at the entrance to the casino after you have parked your car.
You don't have to worry about remembering where you parked your car, just grab a reminder on your way into the casino and store in a safe place and then don't worry about it.
As you leave the casino, take your reminder out and you'll know exactly where you are parked, quite easy and simple.
