    Last call at 1:30-1:45

The liquour laws in Connecticut are strike and no sale of liquor is allowed past 2:00 am and that includes all casinos, unlike Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Doesn't matter whether the casino is open all day, it's the law and no establishment will sell you liquor past that time.

    Tipping the Dealer

by Gypsystravels Written Jul 23, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

As with the waitresses, the dealers usually make most of their wages with tips. It is customary that while you are sitting at a table (poker, etc.) that you tip the dealer depending on how large of a hand you have won. The tip is given in form of a casino chip in any denomination you decide upon.

Ferni will usually tip about $1 chip for small winnings and if its a large pot, he will tip $5 chip.

    Tipping the Waitresses/Hostesses

by Gypsystravels Written Jul 23, 2009

Just like in any other casino, while you are enjoying a few slots or even the tables, the drinks are complimentary.

The waitresses usually will be walking around with a tray of already available drinks or you can order a drink on the house. It is customary to give the waitresses at least $1 per drink.

You have a choice of either ordering simple mixed drinks, beers, water, soda, coffee and even hot chocolate.

    Designated NON Smoking areas

by Gypsystravels Written Jun 18, 2009

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Every casino you will go to will have NON Smoking areas and Mohegan Sun is no different. True, most of the "slot" players are smokers, but smoking is NOT allowed at the poker rooms.

So if you aren't a smoker, just wander around and find an area where smoking is prohibited, believe me, there are many people who don't smoke.

    Parking Reminders

    by cjg1 Written Jun 16, 2009

After you park your car and head to the elevators there are reminder tickets for you to take. The ticket tells you the parking garage and level you parked your car. It's a nice and easy reminder of where you parked.

One of the Scoters for Rent

When we travel with Liz's parents we are always careful to ensure that the facility is handicap friendly. Liz's Dad is wheelchair bound so we make sure that they have ramps and elevators for his needs. Mohegan Sun is very disability friendly with wide areas, elevators and wheelchairs and scooters available for guests. Bob travels with his own scooter so we never have to worry about securing one for his use.

Mohegan Sun has wheelchairs available at the coat checks by the three entrances. Scoters need to be rented and can be reserved by calling: (888) 320-4577. The cost of renting a standard sized scooter is $25 per day. The rental of a heavy duty scooter is $30 per day.

There are also handicaped parking spaces but they are very hard to come by in the parking lots so we often just valet the car.

The Mohegan Sun decor is Native American in style. The artwork throughout the casino and the structural design has Native American feel. My favorite is the mechanical wolves standing on the high structures.

Pompeii & Caesar, Todd English's Tuscany , Big Bubba's BBQ, Birches, The Cove, Jasper White's Summer Shack, Johnny Rockets, Michael Jordan's 23.sportcafe, Seasons Buffet,
    Sunburst Buffet, and The Dubliner.

The Wolf Den and the Mohegan Sun Arena are also smoke free.

    Casino Parking

Mohegan Sun has several covered parking garages as well as valet parking. The garages are named for the seasons and provide a nice covered parking for your car from the elements. Valet parking at the casino is free but is suggested that you tip the attendant $5. We normally park at the Indian Sumer Garage when we are travelling alone or able to find handicapped parking with Liz's parents. If we're in a pinch for parking we don't mind valeting the car.

    ATM's

Mohegan Sun has numerous ATM machines scattered across the property if you are in need of obtaining some cash. We haven't had to use one yet but it's good to know they are plentiful.
