If your are fortunate to live in West HAven or know some one in the area then you probably can walk to the beach. Our friends live just blocks from the beach so it is very easy to park at their house and walk a short five minutes to the beach (and save the parking fee).

Metro North is another way to get to West Haven, Right now you have to either get of at the New Haven or Milford station then take a bus or taxi to West Haven. The West Haven Station project just received funding so a station will be built in West Haven in the near future.
