    Franco's Bakery: Great Breakfast!

by Coombsie Written Oct 8, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Just walk in the door and you see all the marvelous baked goods in the glass case. It's enough to send any sweet tooth to heaven. But that isn't all this little gem has to offer. Take a seat and have a little breakfast. It is well worth the visit. From the fresh baked bread, to the blueberry muffins. Everything is awesome! The waitstaff is extreamly friendly, and always ready with a re-fill of coffee.

Favorite Dish: Anything from the bakery case. You can't leave without having the French Toast. I recommend the Country Cinnamon French Toast. Thick slices of Cinnamon Bread dipped in egg and fried a golden brown! Excellent!!!

The Main Street Cafe: The Post Office serves food?

by Coombsie Written Oct 5, 2004

It's the old United States Post office that has been turned into The Maine Street Cafe and the Willimantic Brewing Company. If you enjoy different types of beer, this place is for you! They usually have at least 4 beers that they brew right there. The building itself is beautiful! Very high ceilings, a mural on the walll in the dining room. Very pretty!

Favorite Dish: All the sandwiches here are named after the surrounding towns, and they get pretty creative! Don't miss the french onion soup here, it is excellent! And the nacho's, YUMMY!

They have a great assortment, absolutely something for everyone here!

Go on in, have a pint and try something, you will like it!

If you sit in the bar there is a televised trivia game you can play against other bars in the U.S. it's really a great time!

With a variety of dishes all named after local towns, this brewery once post office is a charming place to eat or try the homemade microbrews. Try the nachos!

Favorite Dish: Any of the salads are great. So are the burgers and portobellas. Come often, there are so many dishes to try!
