The restaurant is old, made from two diners with the addition of a dinning room added, it is now classified as a restaurant. The age is reflected in the atmosphere along with the economic conditions, but the food completely makes up for it! Plus, there is a fully-stocked bar.
Surviving the economic downturn, the restaurant continues to serve its notable homemade meals for reasonable prices. They make their own deli meats, bake their own croutons, create their own desserts, and try their best to buy from local farms. They constantly have seasonal specials, weekly specials, and daily specials.
The restaurant is local and receives support from local regulars. The atmosphere is relaxed along with the waitstaff who are friendly and banter with their customers, but also very accommodating of customer needs.
This restaurant is a landmark and has historical roots. I suggest giving it your support and trying out the amazing food ChesDel has to offer. They are attempting to move into the digital era, by moving their information to a website and using social networks.
Favorite Dish: Favorite Soup: Crab and Shrimp Bisque: creamy and loaded with chunks of crab meat, baby shrimp, also topped with old bay seasoning. It's delicious!
Favorite Entree: Broiled Combo, either comes with Shrimp and Crab AuGratin or Scampi; both are equally delicious. But this combo also is accompanied with a broiled Crab Cake and seasoned flounder. Amazing combo platter, and a great price.
Favorite Salad: Spinach and Shrimp Salad topped with ChesDel's Hot Bacon Dressing. The salad is overflowing with fresh leafy spinach, homemade seasoned croutons, onions, boiled eggs, carrot shreds, and several broiled, seasoned shrimp. Absolutely delicious combination of flavors, sweet yet tangy and salty.
Favorite Dessert: Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pie. Need I say more? Okay, I will anyway. Creamy chocolate filling, the crust is lined with rich peanut butter, and the dessert is topped with ChesDel's homemade whipped-topping and has peanuts on top.

Delaware City, Delaware, USA Est. 1826

A town on the river. The Historical Fort of Delaware on Pea Patch Island is really interesting especially if you are a Civil War Buff. Can not only be seen in one day, but 1/2 a day would really do it...
