Greyhounds Reach the Beach
Favorite thing: Greyhounds Reach the Beach takes place each year over the Columbus Day weekend (early October). Morning walks on the beach are fun because there are so many greyhounds in one place. It is just greyt fun to see all the happy dogs and their devoted humans.
Fondest memory: My best memory of Dewey Beach was the very first year I attended Greyhounds Reach the Beach with my greyhound, Thalion, and whippet, Sam. As a part of the registration process that year you could find out if anyone else was registered to attend that had a greyhound that was related to your hound. I was contacted by the family who rescued one of Thalion's brothers. We met a couple of times and took photos of the two littermates together. It was wonderful to see the two brothers together!

How to get on the beach
Favorite thing: Dewey Beach is small, so just look down each street you will find a public beach access point, every where is within walking distance. This beach access is near RudderTown next to the Best Western. Beaches are pretty clean.

Favorite thing: There are many public beach access locations in Dewey. Make sure you keep plenty of quarters to feed the meters, the police are ticket happy in the town! No parking spot is left unfed. Please be very careful not to damage the dunes!
