You will find Rehoboth Ave. and the streets on either side of that full of Art, gift, and Novelity Shops. There is something here to take home with you. Something can and WILL part you and your money. We suggest you shop with your eyes on Tuesday, and return the next day if you really want it. It is nothing special to see a shirt, (same fabric, maker and style) for up to $20.00 less right next door.
What to buy: T-Shirts, art, jewelry, towels, all TAX FREE!! Delaware's claim to fame.

Shopping in the fall will get you a lot more bang for your bucks! Be sure to check out the local Outlets, (there are hundreds of these), and the K-Mart and Walmart. (don't laugh), you will drop much green stuff when you see how CHEAP it is at K-Mart and Walmart!! Flip-Flops are Flip-Flops for crying out loud!
What to buy: As much as you can carry home.

This store is a time honored tradition with everyone in our family. I have stopped by once or twice a year for at least 25 years. Hats, shoes, toys, towels, and t-shirts to Hermit Crabs! If you can't find a little memento of your trip here, you are not trying. You might find it here for 1/2 price of other stores on the boardwalk!
What to buy: I suggest you look around town and at the malls the first day or two, and buy the day before you leave. We saw the same articles in different stores, for up to $20.00 difference for the same exact item. You will get 'all salty' if you find something for 1/2 price two stores away!

Rehoboth Outlets are a great place to find discounted brand name stuff! They have outlets for Wilson's Leather, Claire's, Eddie Bauer, Ann Taylor, Gap, Banana Republic, DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Nike, etc.
What to buy: Everything!
What to pay: lower prices than those in department stores.

We found Penny Lane Mall in downtown Rehoboth Beach to be one of the cutest and quaintest places in Rehoboth. The shops are so adorable and the shop owners some of the friendliest we have come across.
You have great art shops, beautiful and fun jewelry. There is the ever so fun Peace Frogs, and across from that GIFTS of SERENITY. A great candle and bath shop! Let's not forget the yummy cafe with pastries, coffees and Crepes!
We found it a quiet and refreshing spot to stop and relax.

Ok, you don't come to Rehoboth Beach to shop. However, once you are there and have a little time on your hands (and perhaps the weather isn't so nice), you might like to stroll through the outlets there.
For a small town like Rehoboth Beach, there is a surprisingly big outlet centre, and I did some good shopping there. It's especially good for clothes and sporty things.
What to buy: Clothes

There are shops all up 'n down Rehoboth avenue. You can find clothes, swimwear, gifts, souvenirs, you get the drift.
But there are a couple of little malls running off the street in both directions, Rehoboth Mews and Penny Lane. They're mainly crafty little places which are lovely to look at and explore.
What to buy: I bought a bunch of fun stuff!

As you drive into Rehoboth Beach on Rt 1, you can't help but notice all the outlets! When I saw one for Cold Water Creek I got as giddy as if I were on laughing gas. So.... when it was cloudy one morning, we hit it!
However, we weren't able to hit any of the other ones because the parking lots were impossibly packed. Besides, the sun had come out by then. So we bagged it, had lunch, and hit the beach!

I really enjoyed browsing in this store. It's filled with fun items such as Dia de los Muertos memorabilia, colorful cotton clothing, and funky jewelry, just to mention a sample of its offerings. The owner makes beaded jewelry while manning the cash-register and is very friendly.
What to buy: I bought an adorable mermaid ornament which will remind me of RB when Christmastime comes.

Along Rehoboth Avenue and the boardwalk, you'll find lots of shops and restaurants. Penny Lane is a small strip that connects Rehoboth Avenue to Wilmington Avenue and is lined with the typical offerings of tourist-oriented merchandise. I'm sure some people find this stuff interesting to browse through, but I'm not a big shopper. Maybe it's a guy thing, but If it's not a great deal or some kind of extraordinary item (like a Ferrari or a plasma TV) I don't want to spend the time just browsing.
