The ladies in the market always gave my groups a good discount as I got to know them and treated them with respect. The people are poor and this is their lively hood, so there is a limit on how far they will go in discounting the items. So please do not be rude.
What to buy: RUM of course all sorts of it sold in the grocery store. Great island clothing, dress's, skirts, cover ups, local art. NiceCoffee mugs can be found in the little grocery store down the street.
The market has nice mens shirts with Island prints, some are realy beautiful.
Of course you can have the ladies put your hair in braids and beads for around $40+
