The route I took was to fly into Miami and drive north up the Interstate. If you avoid the rush hour, it'll take maybe 45 minutes. If the traffic's bad, you could be looking at 2 hours. You have to have a car. It's as simple as that. Given the number of country clubs, the whole place is pretty spread out, and walking anywhere simply isn't feasible....

pictured is the entrance to spanish river city park. this park is one of two accesses to the boca raton beach. the entrance fee to spanish river and red reef beach parks is $16 weekdays and $18 weekends. you can go south a couple of miles south to south inlet county park for $4 or north a couple of miles to atlantic dunes beach park in delray for $1 per hour. i personally think boca raton city parks are a big ripoff.

Take a trip to Misner Park. You can shop, eat, catch a movie, sip coffee and people watch. It is a popular spot, especially for getting social in the evening. The dress code for observing and shopping is 'anything goes'. Dress for clubbing and dining is finer, but can have a casual flare and revealing is always OK.
