the bubble room is one of the most unique restaurants and bars in florida. the bubble room has a very interesting decor. there is a toy train that runs through the restaurant suspended from the ceiling. the waiters are called bubble scouts and wear whimiscal scout uniforms. the bubble room serves local seafood and american fare. the bubble room is a casual fun type of place and is a must see spot when on captiva island.

The Bubble Room: eat till you burst

This has to be the quirkiest restaurant in the Western Hemisphere. You are served by Bubble Scouts in a wonderland of model railways and strange paraphenalia. The food is very good but take an appetite with you. The portions are immense. On one occasion, actually made my way through a beefsteak exceeding 20 ounces in weight with all the trimmings.

Favorite Dish: Didnt get the opportuntiy to try many dishes as we were only on Captiva for 2 weeks, so could not describe a favourite dish, but the beefsteak was excellent

The Bubble Room: Definitely paying for the experience

I have to say that this was probably my least favorite of the many places that we ate at while on Captiva/Sanibel Island. It's kind of a funky place with an absolutely enormous collection of everything you could possibly think of stuck absolutely everywhere, so it's definitely fun to look around. But I found it to be totally overpriced considering the quality of the food, and while the server's were fun dressed up as "Bubble Scouts" I didn't feel that it was worth the money. It's worth stopping in and just seeing the place but there are many tastier, cleaner and cheaper places to eat on the island.

    The Bubble Room: Must Do!

by clray Updated Apr 4, 2011

This is a place you have to go to believe! Everytime I go, I have a different experience! Every room has its own atmosphere! Be sure to walk through the restaurant and see it all! Everyone does it!

Favorite Dish: The prime rib is wonderful! The deserts are fantastic! We never have an appetite left but order anyway and take back to the room to munch on later!

The Bubble Room: Over priced but GREAT Desserts

by RebelDad Updated Apr 4, 2011

I thought the food was bland for the Louisiana Man. I thought the bill was more for the "atmosphere" rather than for the food. The best part of the meal was the dessert. Excellent and large portions. I guess to make up for the food.

    Favorite Dish: Key Lime pie

The Bubble Room is a quirky, kitshy place which is not much to look at from the outside but is one of Captiva's best resraurants. In the Bubble Room, its Christmastime all year around as the Christmas lights and tree are left operating all year. There's a model train that rides on a track above the dining area and through the restaurant as well as antiques lining the walls and halls. There is also an old Santa's workshop purchased from a former Macy's New York Christmastime display.

The restaurant is open for lunch or dinner and serves a fantastic meal at either time. The Bubble Room is known for its baking and the bubble bread and sticky buns are delicious and not to be missed. For main courses, there's a selection of seafood, steaks and prime rib. But the best part of the meal is a slice of one of the huge cakes.

Reservations are not accepted and lines can be long here, but its definitely worth the wait.

Favorite Dish: The bubble bread and dessert! Try one of their homemade chocolate cakes or the holiday tradition red velvet cake.
