Chipley is the county seat of Washington County and has a population of over 4000. The Washington County Courthouse was built in 1932 using the Classical Revival Style of architecture after the county seat was moved from Vernon in 1927. It is historically and architecturally interesting, I like the columns.

the most visited tourist attraction in the chipley area is falling waters state park. falling waters state park has an interesting collection of sinkholes. the largest sinkhole is 100 ft. deep and 20 ft. in circumference. a beautiful water fall flows into the sinkhole and disappears into an underground cavern. falling waters state park also offers hiking trails, a lake for swimming and fishing, and camping. falling waters state park is a very worth while park to visit in northwest florida. for more images of falling waters state park see my travelogue. also for more information about the park see the attached web site.
