William Dean Chocolates: Chocolate and coffee!
I'm so glad that we finally got some exciting dessert around here! Pick up a handmade chocolate or savour a piece of artfully designed dessert. Accompanied by coffee, I could sit at their cafe all day...dreaming, writing and reading:) Oh, and they were part of the feast in Catching Fire (Hunger Games 2)
Favorite Dish: Cappucino chocolate
Columbia: Tableside Mojitos at Sand Key
The Columbia at Clearwater Beach is the baby sister of the one in Ybor. This one is a great spot tos it outside, feel the salt air and sip on tableside mojitos and pitchers of sangria. Food here is great - I remember the croquettas, chorizo tapas and paella. Tip: Arrive before darkness coz then there is no view.
Favorite Dish: chorizo
Sands Beach Bar: Toes in the sand
Located at the Wyndham on Clearwater Beach, Sands is an outdoor deck that faces the Gulf. Awesome views make it the perfect spot to stop and stare at the world, drink in hand:) I loved the calamari, veggie ciabatta, chicken nachos and blackened grouper.
Favorite Dish: calamari and the views! I've heard the angus burger is good too.
E&E Stakeout Grill: Fine dining in an intimate setting
While I can't quite call it a traditional steakhouse, the steak here has been raved about by my fellow steak aficionados! As for me? I love their fresh fish, amazingly fresh house salas (yummy dressing), warm bread, salmon tower salad and crave-worthy dessert. Intimate, cozy and a perfect date/double date spot:) Make a reservation and don't even think about being late!
Favorite Dish: Salmon Tower Salad

Island Way Grill: Don't miss the fresh seafood:)
Island Way has got to be one of my faves in this area. Fresh seafood, delicious sushi rolls, signature sauces for fresh fish, squid and crabs +an amazing Sunday brunch that I have yet to try. Also a delicious house salad. Make a reservation
Favorite Dish: Island way signature sauce with fresh fish of the day.
The Columbia: Best Cuban Food on the Planet
We absolutely LOVE The Columbia Restaurant. We first discovered the Columbia in St Augustine a couple of years ago and fell in love with it. So when we found out that there was one in/near Clearwater beach we were THRILLED. The food is ALL EXCELLENT and so is the service. We particularly love the Yellow Rice side dish but you just can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Favorite Dish: Roast Pork Loin “A la Cubana” "Slices of roast pork with a delicious marinade. Served like in Cuba with black beans, rice and platanos"
This was my husbands favorite dish.
This was mine.
Boneless Chicken breast breaded, grilled and topped with Rioja tomato sauce and melted Spanish Tetilla cheese. Served with yellow rice."
We tried a few others and they were just as good so "branch out". :-)

The Mandalay Grill: The Biscuits and Gravy are to DIE for!
This place is really nice, it looks small from the outside front because there's only two or three outside areas to sit. They're right on the sidewalk where you can people watch. Inside it's very clean with a lot of booths and tables to sit at. KC is the chef and he's an ex airforce guy so he really knows how to run the place. He also makes THE best sausage gravy I've ever had. He said it's an old recipe from his mom who was British but the Gravy is nice and spicy not plain like some British fair tends to be. The grits were really good too. I was so hungry one morning that I just wanted to try everything all at once.
Favorite Dish: Sausage Gravy and Biscuits, the biscuits were homemade and fluffy. My husband had the eggs benedict and really enjoyed them as well. They make homefries also that are really tasty, especially if you top them with some of the gravy. :-) The owner makes a really yummy banana bread that is complimentary along with some honey butter so if you're lucky enough to get some of that count your blessings. :-)
Oh the Iced tea was really good here as well. I like to rate Iced Tea because some places just do not know how to make good iced tea. :-)

Bernini: it's Yborlicious
this italian restaurant is everything a good italian restaurant restaurant should be it has a well themed atmosphere that is inviting and not pretentious. it's located amoungst the many Ybor restaurants and every bite of food is brilliant.
Dining with Gators
Britt's Laguna Grill can not be missed if you are in Clearwater Beach. It is directly on the main road and has a large alligator with its mouth open facing the road. I guess advertising works. I saw the alligator when I first arrived in Clearwater and then ended up eating there the next day. The food was fine. Once again there was lots of fresh seafood on the menu. They also had gator bites for appetizers. I almost tried them but then decided not to at the last minute.
Guppy's on the Beach, Sand Key/Clearwater Beach: Go for the fritters, Mon!
Guppy's is an excellent local seafood joint, over on Sand Key. (just across from Clearwater Beach) This place can get very crowded, but there are as many locals as there are tourists. The food is simple, the service is casual and friendly, and above all......we're talking FRESH seafood. This is the type of place that you want to relax and enjoy a long meal. If you're in a big hurry, you should go elsewhere....you won't enjoy Guppy's for all that it is.
It's truly a place to spend the afternoon, but you won't spend a fortune....not even close to it!
Favorite Dish: Well, everything is well-prepared and everything is fresh. You won't be disappointed with anything on the menu. As is always the case with local seafood joints in the CWB area, you probably should consider shrimp and grouper, truly excellent.
But, here's my insider's tip:
For an appetizer, the spicy conch fritters were "too tuff, mon". That doesn't mean that they were overly chewy, folks....it's Jamaican for "they're great". So, order whatever strikes your fancy for dinner or lunch... But get some conch fritters to go with it.
Crabby Bill's at Indian Rocks Beach: Love fresh seafood? Don't worry, be crabby!!
There are several Crabby Bill's restuarants in Florida, but the original is out on Indian Rocks Beach, just a short drive from Clearwater Beach.
Nothing fancy here, folks, just super fresh seafood, huge portions, friendly and casual service and atmosphere, and excellent value. It's a place that the locals like to eat.
Favorite Dish: Well, it's called CRABBY Bills, and they really think of stone crabs as being their specialty. But for my opinion, the fresh fried gulf shrimp are the ticket. Truly, you can't go wrong with anything here, it's all good and fresh.
Hungry? Just get one of the seafood platters, and loosen your belt. And, remember Crabby Bill's motto:
DON'T WORRY, BE CRABBY!
Cooters: Dining with the Cooters Turtle
Cooters is a wonderful little restaurant on one of the side streets in Clearwater Beach. The menu was full of fresh seafood. The waitresses were very friendly and efficient. The food was very good. An all around pleasant experience. We ate outside on the deck in front of the restaurant. I also got the chance to take another turtle picture! There are also discount coupons in the beach newspaper for this restaurant.
