  • Village Ice Cream and Sandwich Shoppe: DISGUSTING!

    by stephdogg07 Written Feb 14, 2010

This place has the worst service. They are so unfriendly. No one greets you when you walk in or while you stand to order. They expect you to talk to them first. They advertise on their board new flavors but when I asked for one, the lady rudely told me they would not open that flavor until they emptied one. Then the flavors that they did have were empty except for the bottom scrapings or a big chuck of peanut butter. Were they seriously going to serve this? There were at least 5 empty tubs that they were going to scrap the bottom and serve to people. I would have been embarrassed to even have them sitting there for customers to look at. The three employees that were there were so rude that none of them said hello, thank-you, or good bye. I will never ever go there again. I live in Cocoa and would rather go elsewhere.

  • Ossorio: Great lunch at Ossorio

    by mindshrink2002 Updated Feb 8, 2007

Well, I have been there two times so far. My boss took me for lunch, and it was excellent. i then returned later for coffee and a pastry. This is a coffee shop/restauraunt. it has a wonderful selection for lunch, I have not been there for dinner. there coffee and chai latte are also very good. I purchased a pound of their coffee, which they roast themselves, and I am going to continue to buy my coffee there. It was aromatic and bold tasting, and very very fresh. At 8.00 a pound, it is also a great value, when comparing to other gourmet coffees. The pastries however, are what put this place over the top. I had a tart, which was unbelievable. They also sell homemade icecream, which i have not yet experienced.

This is the perfect lunch date restaraunt. First of all, it is in cocoa village, which is an excellent place to walk around. The food is more upscale than a sandwich shop, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The service staff are very friendly and helpful. I would reccommend coming here for lunch, dinner, or just a good cup of coffee. This place is everything Panera's wishes it could be!

Favorite Dish: The cha cha chicken sandwich! The chicken is sauteed with ginger, and the bread is excellent! The pastrys are also definitely worth the calories.

When I registered, I got information on places to eat from the marina manager. He recommended Murdocks, but I thought that might be a bit rowdy on Saturday night, so we walked up to Normans. We were early, so the party people weren't there yet. They had the horse races on the ESPN channels on the TVs.

    Upcoming Events:
Thu, Oct 14th Live Music Leanne Binder
Fri, Oct 15th Is Norman's Ready! The Bill Sides Show
Thu, Oct 21st Good food,Good times,Good friends Joel Pitts
Thu, Nov 11th Live Music Leanne Binder
Fri, Nov 19th Thanks for Giving Us Rockabilly! High Octane

Favorite Dish: Service was quick and efficient. We were parched, so I asked for water, and it came in LARGE glasses which were kept filled. I had a steak which came with a Ceasar salad, and Bob had a shrimp basket, which they steamed the shrimp for him instead of frying them. I had a cheesecake, and Bob had a chocolate cake for dessert. Our bill was $34.77.

    Black Tulip: Local Landmark

by grandmaR Updated Aug 28, 2005
    Black Tulip sign

The Black Tulip is a landmark, formerly known as Myrt’s Restaurant, built in 1898. Myrt was apparently one of the original founders of Cocoa - there's a square dedicated to her. A review says: "In the Olde Cocoa Village, Black Tulip is known for fine dining in an intimate, European-style setting. ... Monday-Saturday for lunch and dinner"

We didn't go to this restaurant both because it was a holiday weekend and we were told that reservations were probably needed, and because we thought it would be too expensive. The website may not work.

    OPEN: 11:30 am - 2:30 PM; 5:30 PM - 10 PM, Monday through Saturday

Florida Continental Cuisine - established 1980. Fine dining in a Romantic Bistro setting, featuring fresh local fish, roast duck and veal dishes - Catering services also provided.

    Favorite Dish: Their menu has:

Tulip Crisp Roast Duckling (Our Signature Dish)

Veal Oscar Panfried veal escallops topped with Florida Blue Crab and fresh asparagus then glazed with hollandaise sauce 24.95

Panfried Chicken Breast Florentine Sautéed chicken breast on a bed of seasoned spinach with mushroom-brandy sauce 15.95

Filet Mignon Medallions Pan-seared twin tenderloin filets in a tangy mustard and artichoke sauce 24.95
