Sushi Oishin on the main street: Thai Owned Japanese Restaurant

by cochinjew Written Apr 19, 2008

it is the fashion all the world over now, sushi and japanese food made by asians and foreigners and non japanese and what not.. since the popularity of the japanese food and the health benefits of it.
at best they can be tasty but it cannot hold a candle to the sushi or the japanese food that one gets in Japan
like the generic chinese food sold in america, the "japanese" food is a generic version of the japanese food in Japan. but ah well thank god for little mercies and enjoy when you can..

    Favorite Dish: Sushi
the usual favourites which no non japanese chef can spoil..

Sawadee is more appropriate here than Konnichiwa..

Tu Tu Tango: Tu Tu Tango

by goingsolo Updated Jan 16, 2005

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Tu Tu Tango is a funky and artistic tapas style restaurant. The work of local artists hangs on the walls and is for sale. Belly dancers and other entertainment often dance through the aisles without notice.

I highly recommend this place and generally bring tourists here because of the combination of food and atmosphere. The menu is all appetizer sized portions, so its a great place to try several different things at once.

Numerous items, such as the cajun chicken egg rolls, alligator bites and a variety of appetizer sized pizzas, are staples on the menu, but new items are added from time to time. There is a separate menu with the chef's new and special creations which is updated weekly.

The outdoor bar is a popular place and a local after work gathering spot. The sangria is excellent, but packs a pretty stong punch.

Favorite Dish: Cajun chicken egg rolls. These are the house specialty. Try them and you'll see why.

Monty's has incredible live entertainment that make you feel as if you are on some tropical island, and you have the choice of dining inside or outside overlooking the water.

Favorite Dish: Great Seafood! If you can make it for their Happy Hour (M-F 4-8pm), they have great deals on raw oysters and clams, shrimp and stone crab claws...and of course, drinks are almost half off!

Okay, this was one place we went where everyone actually spoke English--which was very refreshing since my friends and I speak horrible Spanish. It was also a great place to catch the NCAA Sweet 16 games. And of course, I guess most guys enjoyed the fact that the waitresses are all pretty and wear skimpy outfits!

Favorite Dish: Wings (of course) and their crab legs were mighty tasty as well

Le Bouchon: A French bistro in Coconut Grove

A real "Bouchon Lyonnais" owned by French people (but without beret and "baguette" of bread) proposes some samples of our gastronomy to the tourists.
