by jadedmuse Specialty here must be the waitresses. Don't forget to tip!
You can get burgers here, but the real dishes are the waitresses, I'm guessing. Oh - there's usually a pretty good live band playing in the courtyard area, which gets people rocking...and drinking. Good Times. Leave a Comment Theme: Pub/BreweryAddress: Main StreetDirections: Daytona Beach

Parks Restaurant Entrance by grandmaR Parks has apparently moved to Holly Hill. When we went by January 15, 2005, this sign was across the door. But now their website says that they have moved. When we were at Caribbean Jacks, their restaurant wasn't finished yet. So we set out to walk to a nearby restaurant. After figureing out how to negotiate on foot under the bridge access, we ended up at Parks. We went back the next two nights with our friends. We found out later that Parks is normally closed between Thanksgiving and Christmas and decided to change for this week. But most people thought it would be closed and didn't come. So that meant we could get right in. Otherwise there are long lines because it is so popular.
This is a family owned and operated restaurant which offers a large variety of fresh fish, shrimp, scallops, lobster, crab, gator tail and much more. (There's a landlubber menu too). It was located on the Halifax River just past the new fixed Seabreeze bridge. It is normally a very busy bustling and sometimes noisy place. We got the early bird special and the two of us ate including tea, dessert and tips for between $24 and $32. The restaurant is open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Sunday at 4:00 PM. Early Bird Specials from 4:00 to 5:00 PM/ Prices Range from $7.95 to $10.95 Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 1112 RIVERSIDE DRIVEPhone: 386-258-7272Directions: (Just North of L.P.G.A. Collage by grandmaR Our friends took us to this place, because being Saturday night, all the regular restaurants had long waiting lines. This place has a hometown atmosphere and is popular among the locals - "definitely Daytona and we like it that way." It is named after the famous NASCAR race up in Indianapolis, and is a small, quaint restaurant / tavern that's laid back, offers a great value and is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. weekdays and 'til midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. There's always a special and it won't break you. Open for lunch and dinner 11am - 11pm. Full service bar.
It is famous for their 1/2lb Angus Beef sirloin hamburgers and pulled North Carolina BBQ in a light vinegar sauce. I had a steak and it was good - the service was personal - a lot of regulars at the bar. Our friends knew of it because the bikers go there. It is run by Penny and Remmy and I think Penny waited on us. Dinner for four including beer and drinks, and tip was $84.58 We went back again in 2005 - Bob had the BBQ, and I had steak (ribeye) again. Our bill was $25.00 The special today was chicken dumpling soup and New York Strip. Eat over the Atlantic Ocean with waves breaking under the pier. Pitchers of beer/Bloody Marys. The shark ribs are served with a Buffalo type dipping sauce. Also other seafood and a pretty good Cuban sandwich. Breakfast 7am-11am is good also. You may want to fish from the pier after eating or go to the oval shaped bar for Happy Hour.
Shark Ribs w/ Broccoli Slaw. The spicy Buffalo dipping sauce works well and the unusual slaw made from broccoli/tomato is perfect. Collage of fish tank and food views by grandmaR This restaurant has been built since we last stayed at this marina, and it is BIG and popular. They have had to put in reserved spaces for the boaters, otherwise they'd have no place to park. Charlie, our friend whose boat is here gets free food for taking care of the fish tanks (collage in the picture), so he brought us over in his truck. He figured there wouldn't be as many people here since it was rainy and nasty out - particularly there wouldn't be many motorcyclists out. Even so the restaurant was quite crowded and busy. The fish tank was at the entrance and you could see through it to the kitchen. There was also a window at the far end looking out onto and across the river.
Bob had a half rack of ribs, I had teriyki chicken (in the inset) and Charlie had the salmon special. He paid with his free meal card, so I don't know exactly what the total was. The special on the entrance board was Tilapia (fish) for $17.95. Leave a Comment

When we got to Daytona (spring 2004) we called our friend Charlie who was at Caribbean Jacks. He was going to come over and take us to a restaurant. But his car was blocked in (by patrons of the restaurant at his marina), so he rode his motorcycle over to our marina and met us at this restaurant which was brand new and had just opened. We ate out on the patio, which was a little chilly later on (the photo of us that I took in the mirror is in the collage)
I had the Queens Cut prime rib (lower left of collage) for $15.95. It came with a garden salad, rice (which I had) or garlic mashed potatoes and vegetable. Bob had the Exchange Caeser salad with shrimp ($10.95), and Charlie had the pan seared salmon ($15.95). I had fried cheesecake for dessert ($4.95). Iced tea or coke was $1.95@ Service was a little disconnected, but they had only been open for 2 or 3 days. They have live music and dancing. The bill for the three of us without the tip or Charlie's drink was $57.14. Leave a Comment

Halifax River and fixed bridge by grandmaR Our friends were tired of eating at Parks for two nights in a row. Since they had transportation, they wanted to take us somewhere else for dinner. We ended up here. This is a 'fancy' place, with tablecloths and wine glasses.
DInner for two was $41.41, but I'm pretty sure that we had among the cheapest things on the menu. The entrees run between $9 and $17.00. Bob usually has lasagna, and I usually have pasta with sauce and dessert. restaurant at night by grandmaR There were NO restaurants anywhere close, to the marina (our side of it - the Charthouse was close as the crow flies, but we'd have had to walk a couple of miles to get there by land) and the map they gave us which showed Rosarios (which was the closest off the property from where we were on C dock) was NOT where it was shown on the map. It was a long walk, and first we went several blocks in the wrong direction. This time (2004) we were on H dock so the restaurant was across the street. The marina lady who checked us in recommended that gentlemen should wear a shirt with a collar (i.e. not just a t-shirt).
The restaurant proved to be in a small B&B or 'historical' Inn (with several varieties of aluminum siding on the outside, antique sideboards and lace curtains), and was Italian. The dining room was cramped, but the walls were light. The food was OK but a bit expensive. I had lasagna. Lunch: $4-$7 / Dinner:$11-$17 The URL shows a picture of the chef and is an article about the owners from the local paper. Leave a Comment
