football/soccer has been my game all my life, since my first steps into a field/pitch at Casa de Campo in Madrid with the Real Madrid alavin team; went on thru my travels in high school in NJ and then university here in FL. and on and on even today in corporate league.lol!
I played varsity senior team and started in defense with some midfield uses under English and west African coaches with a winning record. The school is now NAIA small colleges of the USA.
and of course my other love was baseball, then softball, and now is pretty much all soccer/.football but got the photo from school so here it is...

The former English Jim's has undergone a sea change, and is now Caribbean Jacks. There are new fixed piers, a pool, and new showers etc. There is a boaters lounge with TV and internet line. There is cable TV at the dock. The promised restaurant has now been built. Parks is within walking distance and is very good, and cheap (has early bird specials from $8-11). The rates have risen dramatically -- It is now $1.50/ft and $4.00 for 30 amp (plus tax of course) and there is a charge for cable TV too. Fuel (diesel) is $1.169/gal. Caribbean Jack's said there is no charge for dinghys to tie up if they just want to shlep down to Publix - just if they want to use the facilities, which includes the hot tub, heated pool and showers I guess.

What a cool place! I don't really have any particular interest in racing, but I had the opportunity to visit the track when they were testing and when it was closed to the public. The place is huge and track is so long and high when you see it up close!
You can also pay to either have a driver drive you around the track or you can pay extra and drive your own car. I have never done it but I heard that it was a great experience and lots of fun. It cost about $200 I believe to have a driver with you in the car. It's probabaly more expensive to drive a car by yourself. But the track was defenitely a wonderful visit. They have track tours also everyday for $8.00 a person.

At the Southside Jetski you can rent a Jetski for an hour for $75. At first we didn't really know what to do with it, but after a while we figured out how to do some tricks on our jetski and it was a lot of fun. Of course, just gunning it and going straight forward is always a good time.

Biking....as in riding a motorcycle for both sport and leisure.
It's a hobby for some, a passion for others....and a complete LIFESTYLE for some real diehards that, should you ever go to Bike Week and see them for yourself, will definitely provoke feelings of nostalgia for those old, carefree days when California was a golden destination and Steppenwolf's "Born to Be Wild " was every biker's personal anthem.

Daytona Beach is home to not only the "World's Most Famous Beach" , but also Daytona International Speedway which hosts two NASCAR Nextel Cup Events annually including the DAYTONA 500 (Feb.) and the Pepsi 400 (July). This photo was taken in Victory Lane following Dale Earnhardt's victory in the July 2001 PEPSI 400 event. This was a bitter sweet victory for Junior, winning at the track where his father Dale Earnhardt, Sr. lost his life several months earlier.

Been here twice and loved it. Last time it was $1.15/ft including everything, and diesel was $1.069/gallon. This time we were at H dock, and closer to stuff. They also have an email line for each section. TV -cable was good, and marina personnel were helpful. In the picture, the entrance channel is behind the boat and the office is behind the dinghy.
They give funny keys sort of like dog tags. They told us that if we left during the day, we could drive the boat by the fuel dock and someone would hold a net out for us to drop them into. Fortunately we didn't have to try that, as we left about 6:30 and the security guard came for them.
When they say 'walking distance...' that's only if you are on the side of the marina that is close enough to stuff to walk to it. There is still a West Marine on the property but there are NO restaurants anywhere close to C dock where we were, and the map they gave us which showed Rosarios (which was the closest off the property from where we were on C dock) was NOT where it was shown on the map. It was a long walk, and we went several blocks in the wrong direction.
Equipment: From their website:
Fuel & Sanitary Pump-Out
Showers & Restrooms
Uniformed Security
Cable TV
Telephone Hook-up
Concierge Style Dock Service [i.e. they send someone in a little boat to check you in instead of making you walk a couple of miles around the marina]
Picnic Area With Grills
West Marine Ship's Store On-Site
Boaters Lounge
Laundromats
Dock Locker At Slip
On-Site Launch Ramp
Parking
Walking Distance to Downtown Restaurants & Shops [NOT]
Transient Slips Available; Reservations always welcome.
