This preserve was created by the local government by adding filtered water to an unused space to create a marsh area. You will want to bring a camera to see the local species- birds, alligators, turtles, fish, etc. You'll see tons of different species of birds (bring the zoon lens for best effect) as you walk along the 1 mile raised wooden pathways. Placards detail information about local species and the park. The park is open 7 days, dawn till dusk. Located on the east side of Jog road, north of Atlantic Avenue.

    Delray Live Oaks Park

    Overlook Deck

This is a 25-acre site just near the Office Depot corporate campus (south of Linton on Congress). It has a short paved path and a dirt path, the paved path ending up at a wooden deck overlook. When I went here I didn't see any animals except a few lizards, dragonflies, and a few birds. The park ranger told me that some turtles nest here, and the brochure indicates that wild coffee and beauty berry grow here, in addition to the saw palmetto in abundance and oak trees and sabal palms.

Don't come alone, according to the park ranger, because some wierdos apparently hang out there. Just before we arrived, he was propositioned by a random guy to get it on in the woods. Yikes.

If you are looking for another great restaurant, head to the Greek Islands Taverna in Ft. Lauderdale.
The lamb chops and rice pudding are "to die for"!
