Florida is known as the "Sunshine State" but that can change suddenly. In the heat of the summer, late afternoon thunderstorms can roll in. These kinds of storms are usually very short in duration and can carry a blow.
Summer : High 88F / 31C, Low 62F / 13C
Fall : High 84F / 29C, Low 54F / 12C
Winter : High 70F / 21C, Low 48F / 9C

The Destin Seafood Festival is a yearly event held in Octobor at the Morgan Sports Center. There are 100+ art/craft booths to browse through, giving you the opportunity to support and meet many local artists. And of course there is plenty of good local seafood to eat! Last time I went I had shark on a stick, and it was quite good. They also have a "Taste of Destin" where you can taste samples of menu items from local restaurants. There is also local music and plenty of activities to keep the kids busy. There is face-painting, balloon animals, a NASCAR racetrack, puppet and magic shoes, live animals, etc.
It's a great outing for the whole family. I love going each year!
Parking tip: There are "Park and Ride" shuttles that are very convienent. Parking at the Morgan Sports Center can be a nightmare, so it's easy to park further away and take a complimentary shuttle to the festival. The Park and Ride station is located at the Emerald Coast Centre -- where Beals and Office Max is.

The pace is a bit slower here, so enjoy a bike ride along a paved path, a long walk on a beach or visit Grayton Beach State Park and hike the trails amongst the sand dunes.
The sun, sand and se give the location its personality and its people provide the friendly atmosphere.Enjoy these wonderful gift and keep them forever in you memories.

Ok! Some cultural tips? Let me think...What about... Literature!!! Poem, I saw in the reception of the hotel in Destin.
Destin, My Desteny. There is a place I found called Destin
Oh, such a beautiful sight,
We've heard of golden streets in Heaven,
But will Heaven have beaches of white?
Some day I hope to call this place my home,
Taking part in it's beauty day by day,
As long the Gulf's waters I roam,
watching the children and grown-ups play.
Mornings begin with cold breezes from ocean,
As the world seems to move at a slower pace,
It's sunsets are from an artist with brilliant motion,
And there's no fear of the new day you face.
Yes, if before I return, I'm called away,
To live in a place for eternity,
May it be paradise, I hope and pray,
Like Destin, for that is my desteny.

Learn the legend of a Sand Dollar: it is said that Christ left the sand dollar on Earth as a symbol to help the evangelists teach the faith.
The five holes commemorate the five wounds of Christ, while at the center on one side blooms the Easter lily, and at the lily's heart, is the star of Bethlehem.
The Christmas poinsettia is etched on the other side, a reminder of Christ's birth.
According to this legend, if you break the center, five white doves will be released to spread good will and peace.

Dress down! During the warm season, people dress very casual. But watch out for sunburn. With the sand and water, it does not take long to look like a lobster.
