Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Flip Flops or swim shoes are a life saver for walking on hot dune walkovers and hot sand.
Sunglasses are a must. Especially on the beach, the white sand reflects the sun up into your eyes and you spend the whole time squinting and eventually develop a headache. After the first headache I wore sunglasses everywhere. No more headache.
Swimsuits of course and plenty of beach towels
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen. We applied sunscreen to every inch of our exposed bodies and we still got sunburnt. The secret is apply often. After going in the water and possibly every 30 min to an hour. The sun reflects off of the water and off of the white sand. Plus, don't let cloudy days fool you. You can still get burnt.
Photo Equipment: Camera's or Video Equipment is a must. Not only will you have your kids and loved ones on film to remember the greatest vacation you ever had. You will always want to keep it with you to capture some the oceans magnifient creatures. If you stay any length of time and you watch the ocean I can almost guarantee you will see dolphins. Walk down the fishing pier on Okaloosa Island and you could see any number of interesting marine life. We saw a Sea Turtle and a Shark not to mention some of the biggest fish I had ever seen.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Some condos offer free beach chairs and umbrellas and most beaches offer them for a daily fee. But if your smart you will bring your own umbrella and beach chairs. Plus a hat. Unless you are planning to work on your tan. Stay under that umbrella with plenty of sunscreen on . Trust me on this.
Miscellaneous: If you have kids Sand toys are a must. We brought a basket of shovels, buckets, and rakes. Not only did my 5 year old build some impressive sand castles. My 13 and 12 yr olds plus Dad and I got into the act. You can't help it. The sand just begs you to dig into it.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Everything is casual in Destin. Although there are a few upscale restaurants, for the most part casual wear is the norm. Make sure to bring bathing suits, flip-flops, and plenty of tank tops and shorts.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring tons of sunscreen. Even on a cloudy day, slather it on. You'd be surprised at the painful sunburn you will get from even an overcast day! However, all the beach shops are stocked with plenty of sunscreens and aloe (for the sunburns!), so you can always just buy it here.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you like to snorkel, there are a couple of decent spots around the jetties. Bring snorkeling gear, but you can always just buy it here in the HUGE supersized beach stores. The same goes for sand toys for the kiddies.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Flip flops are the footwear of choice.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring your sun screen! And bring a hat. You don't want to look like you're 80 years old when you're only 30 years.
Photo Equipment: If you bring your camera to the beach, bring a ziplock back in which to store it. Or just buy a waterproof disposable camera. They work great!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Be sure to bring a beach chair or a beach mat. It makes relaxing on the beach a little easier. If you don't bring one, you can buy a inexpensive one from any of the MANY beachy shops near the water.

Luggage and bags: My Dad & my brother won't go to Destin without their golf clubs. They tell me there are some of the most beautiful golf courses in the world in Destin.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You'll want some sandals, and of course a bathing suit.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Make sure you take some Aloe with you. It's great for burns, which you are sure to get in Destin. If you forget to take some, you'll easily find some at any store in Destin. There's a 24 hour Wal-Mart if you forget anything else you find you really need.
Photo Equipment: A camera & lots of film. It doesn't matter how many times I go to Destin, I always end up taking way too many pictures. It's so beautiful. I just can't help it.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: My mom won't go to Florida without her beach chairs & umbrella.
Miscellaneous: Some people like to bring a book to do some reading while you're on the beach. Personally, I like to take my CD player & just fall asleep in the sun.

Luggage and bags: Pack something to hold empty cans, snack wrappers, etc. Even biodegradable items left behind will litter the area for weeks, monts or more.
Miscellaneous: Be sure to bring sunscreen. Sunglasses and hats will help to avoid squinting and therefore eye fatigue, from both the sun and reflected hight from the sand.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Take half as many clothes as you think you'll need. Everything is so casual all you really need are short and T-shirts unless you want to go to a fancy restaurant...then you'll need a shirt with a collar and (for women) maybe a sun dress
