A Morning Stroll on the Dunedin Causeway

by charlenemixa Written Aug 27, 2014

My husband and I often take a morning stroll or sometimes an afternoon stroll on the Dunedin Causeway. Especially in the morning before the beach goers or fisherman arrive, it is a peaceful, scenic and invigorating walk over the bridge and along the causeway. We find others like this time of day to walk, run, bike, rollerblade the causeway for exercise and enjoyment. It Is very scenic. After our walk we may stop in for a breakfast at Benedict's. The Causeway is at the west end of Curlew Road. There is parking after the bridge or you can even spot a place before the bridge. Those ready for a long walk can stroll to length of the causeway to the entrance to Honeymoon Island (a fee to go further) and then return. For those seeking beaches and sunbathing we recommend going to Honeymoon Island. Just know there is a fee and the beach has lots of shells and rocks, so have some beach shoes to wear. Still scenic, beautiful and away from crowds of Clearwater Beach.

Note: Windsurfing is popular here also.

A great walking/biking path along the causeway. Path and water along the Dunedin Causeway.
