The food was good and staff was friendly. Have a bite to eat (a very short walk [next door] from Speedy's) at a deli'ish place where you can hang out on the dock, look at the life sea life they have next to the restaurant, or simply sit in their outside area and enjoy the moment (as shown).
Favorite Dish: Good food. Also, the owners dog was cute and very sociable. Don't you just love when there's pets free to roam.... Just too cute.
check out the opinoins of people who live here. I can't remember the name of the place I ate at after my exhausting canoe trip, but it was near the Captain's table and was the absolutely most delicious seafood I've ever had in my entire life, smeared with butter and dripping with oil in only the best way. the place i ate at had a great view of the river and the mangrove trees, and a carmelized stuffed alligator that all the tourists would kneel down and take pictures with.
the oyster house is a good seafood restaurant on the chokoloskee causeway (CR 29) about two miles south of everglades city. good local seafood moderately priced.
'Allie' the gator could have you for lunch if you don't watch it.
