bulow plantation state park is home the ruins of the bulow sugar mill. in 1836 the sugar mill was destroyed by seminole indians during the second seminole war. the bulow family had a sugar, cotton, rice, and indigo plantation on this site prior to the war. today you can visit the ruins and use the park boat ramp to canoe bulow creek. bulow sugar mill ruins is a very worth while place to visit for those interested in nature and early florida history. the bulow sugar mill ruins is listed on the national register of historic places. see the attached web site for admission and times.

The Gallery of Local Art (GOLA) is Flagler Beach's home for fine art, jewelry, gifts, workshops and classes. The Gallery of Local Art is a unique little gallery by the sea that houses fine treasures made by local artists. Most classes require no experience and can be jumped into at any time.
the gamble rogers memorial state park is located 3 miles south of flagler beach on US A1A. this beach side state park offers a beautiful beach, fishing, camping, and RV parking. because of it's popularity camp sites should be reserved in advance by calling 1-800-326-3521. the park is named after the famous florida folk singer james gamble rogers who drowned near st. augustine in 1991 trying to save a swimmer in distress. to learn more about this famous florida personality see the attached website.
flagship harbor park is located on the intercoastal waterway just east of downtown. this small park has a boat ramp and a boardwalk over a mangrove ecosystem. a very nice place to see wildlife and to saltwater fish.
located downtown at the intersection of SR 100 and US A1A is the flagler beach pier. the flagler beach pier offers fishing and for a small fee you can walk out to the end of the pier for a nice view of the ocean and flagler beach.
most tourists come to flager beach for it's beautiful beach. flagler beach is "off the beaten path" as far as florida beaches go so it is not as crowded as nearby daytona beach. there is a public beach access downtown near the flagler pier. also you can take US A1A north to washington oaks state park or US A1A south to gamble rodgers state park. flagler beach also offers excellent surf fishing. flagler beach is a great place to have a relaxing beach vacation.
Feeling energetic? Take an inn bicycle (free rental) and pedal over to the local park that sports a boardwalk. It is called the Flagship Harbour Boardwalk. What makes this path special is that it crosses the river and is quite secluded. Bring your fishing pole and a bucket of brewskis!
