I wanted to go to a very highly rated Cuban restaurant on Duval Street, but we didn't start looking for it until well after noon and it was packed, and I was too hungry to wait. So we went here.

I understand the name of this restaurant comes from the two owners who are both named Richard/Dick. We had lunch and watched the tourists on Duval street (the Duval Crawl). They also have large TVs to watch sports if that is your thing.

    Lunch from 11:30am 'til 4pm.
    Dinner from 11:30am 'til close.
Happy Hour 4-7 pm: $1 Draughts and 1/2 Price Featured Appetizers

Crabby Dicks' also had a line of merchandise...tee-shirts and sweatshirts, hats, mugs etc. I did not buy any.

My mom collects pictures of unusual rest room signs, and I was able to add to her collection here. The Men's room was labeled Outboards, and the Ladies room was labeled Inboards. The pictures were of a man and a lady in the appropriate type of boat (photos 2 and 3)

    Favorite Dish: Favorite Dish:
I can't remember what I had, but they say they have the following things on the menu.

The Best Local Fresh Fish, Dungeness and Alaskan Crabs, Florida Lobster, Stone Crabs, Oysters, Clams, Scallops, and Shrimp, Expertly Prepared Pastas Dishes with Cream or Marinara Sauces

    Crabby Dick's on Duval

Located on Key West’s main drag, I’m not going to deny it, it was the name that attracted me to this fine establishment. I figured that any place with a cheeky name like ‘Crabby Dick’s’ would be a fun place to dine indeed! We were not disappointed either, taking a couple of stools at the bar as the huge balcony overlooking Duval Street was equally impressively packed. Either way, we had a fantastic spot with which to people watch (a great pastime for such a characterful place!) as the large bar is slap bang in the centre of the cavernous indoors portion of the restaurant.

For cheapskates like me, the best time to hit this place is between 4-7pm for happy hour when the ice-cold Draught Key West Ales are freely flowing for $1! Featured appetisers are also half price at this time, although prices are always very reasonable with a dozen freshly shucked raw oysters going for a mere $4 at any time of the day!!!

Although the atmosphere is casual in the extreme, the staff of Crabby’s are very serious about their service, which is always with a friendly smile and the food excellently presented and mouthwateringly tasty!

Crabby Dick’s is a great place to hang out where you can watch the ‘Duval Crawl’ on the street below, chill out at the bar with a beer in hand watching your favourite sport on one of their many big screen TV’s or just sit down with friends to a huge feast of some of the best seafood this side of the 0-Mile Marker…

Crabby Dick’s as you might imagine, also has quite the merchandise line going with some real head turning t-shirts for sale. Another plus for this locally owned restaurant in the middle of downtown Key West is it’s free parking…

Favorite Dish: My favourite dish here has to be those oh so bountiful and fresh raw oysters at Crabby Dick’s, I think we went through several dozen together, washed down by an ice-cold drop of the local amber nectar.

After the extended appetiser, I opted for a ‘Catch of the Day’ off the chalkboard of Pan seared Wahoo (because I liked the name!) with a side of French fries and salad and washed down with a nice glass of Key West Ale. The fish was expertly cooked, with a wonderful melt in the mouth texture, as you would expect from a quality high turnover seafood restaurant in the middle of the Caribbean. For dessert we had that quintessentially Key West dessert experience – the delicious Key Lime Pie! Best use of condensed milk I can think of!

Crabby Dick’s is also highly acclaimed for the "Best in Key West" Buffalo Wings and Maryland Crab Cake.

    What a great place! :-)
