There is a new mall under development off of Card Sound Road. You wouldn't know with all the road construction coming into Key Largo and some of the Condo-Motel's popping up. It has some great sporting goods and clothing. It saves you at least an hour and half drive time going up to Miami.
What to buy: Outdoor gear and clothing.
What to pay: $25 and up.

From souvenirs to local handicrafts, The Garden of Eden has a wide variety of items for sale
This store was closed when I visited over the 4th of the July long weekend but that did not stop me from getting a photo with the huge parrot fish statue out front along Highway 1.
Do not get this confused with the Garden of Eden in Key West which is a popular clothing optional bar on the roof of the Bull & Whistle bar on Duval Street.
What to buy: Always consider some "cheesy" Florida gift whether it be alligator jerky or hula bobble girls.
The store has a variety of unique Keys-type items that are top quality also.
What to pay: Prices vary throughout the Keys. Drugstores and even grocery stores carry most souvenirs, postcards, etc but the local stores carry authentic Keys-made items that can be one of a kind.

There's a big flea market at Big Pine every Saturday and Sunday 8 to 2 from October to May. So many people come that the traffic is terrible. There is a big parking lot with no shade. Be sure you've got sunscreen.
What to buy: I bought some wholesale stuff for my daughter's anniversary - not at this stand, but it was wholesale jewelry. The marked prices were not the prices I paid.
The shops with the T-shirts nicely displayed are not the ones that you get 4 for $10.00. But at that they are probably cheaper than you will get in Key West on Duval Street.
They have women's sarongs, terry bathrobes, bathing suits, etc.
There is a sock booth. That photo was taken on a cold day as you can see from the way the woman shopper is bundled up. I've never bought socks here. The booth is right next to the cheap (seconds) T-shirt booth where T-shirts (some with collars) are 4/$10.00.
They also have souveniers, fresh food/farm market produce and plants and pottery
What to pay: One time Bob got a pair of polarized sunglasses for $6.00. He also got a patch repair kit for patching a flat hose for about $3.00

There are a variety of items on sale. The first time, I got some canvas for painting pictures on, and sunglasses. Bob got some very cheap canvas bags, and shirts that were seconds. There were also books, pottery, dishes, knives, T-shirts, sarongs, socks, and knicknacks of various sorts.
We went in 2002 when we had a rented car, and went again January 2004
What to buy: The first picture has a guy has various pieces of stainless boat hardware such as handles and hinges, stainless strips, and dinghy plugs, etc.

Key Lime Products is a chain of stores which sell, as you may have guessed, key lime products. Here you will find key lime jellies and candies, cookbooks and other memorabilia, and pretty good key lime pie by the slice.
You will find several of these stores as you drive the Overseas highway. Just look for the lime green signs.
