established in 1938 the elbo room is a typical florida beach bar. this local watering hole became famous for it's part in the 1960 movie "where the boys are". the elbo room gets a mixture of locals and tourists. an interesting place to visit for people of my generation who remember the movie.

The elbo Room is the stuff of legend. There's not much to it, it is on the corner of A1A and Los Olas, right on the beach. No frills here, it is basically just an open bar that locals and tourist alike can stop for a drink on the beach. They have live music and an upstairs patio. Not much, but there is something about being right on the beach, wearing your bathing suit and listening to music. Always, ALWAYS a great crowd.

The only bar left from the heyday of the 'Strip's' spring break era, it is run down but nonetheless packs them in on weekend afternoons and most any night during season. Still a great time.
