Water Taxi offers transportation and tours in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The Water Taxi makes scheduled pickups and stops at many restaurants, attractions and shopping areas. A Water Taxi tour is also a great way to get acquainted with the area. Group tours, theme parties, sunset cruises and other options are available. You can get an all day ticket for around $5

This is one way to get around the world.
When the USS Eisenhower came to town my husband and I took a boat out to see it.

This picture is from our boat.

I can not begin to explain how massive this carrier is. Especially when you are going along side of it in a little boat.

Ft. Lauderdale has an international airport so you can fly here from just about anywhere but the most fun thing is that drive down the first time as a spring breaker. You pile a bunch of guys in a car and just drive straight for about 20 hours and boom, you are in paradise.
Mass transit is not a hallmark of the states and particularly in Florida. Ft. Lauderdale is no exception. You really need a car do get around or taxi it. One great alternative is the Water Taxi, where you can travel via the intracoastal to your destination. Of course it has to be on the water, but many things are, even Second Street's nightlife! This picture is NOT the water taxi, but where you'd get dropped off near Second Street. Fares $7 one way, $13 round trip and $15 all-day pass. 651 Seabreeze Blvd. (A1A) 954-467-6677.
