    Kite-Surfing looks like fun!

This sport works your whole body. The kite is huge, and two guys put it in the water. You have to get the giant kite up in the air, and jump on surf/ski board at same time. These guys made it look easy but...I bet it's not! We saw the kites lift them up to 12 feet off of the water! It is a very exciting sport to watch.

Equipment: Everyone doing this sport wore a helmet, had a pump to inflate kite, huge barn size kite, nice fancy surf/ski board, and a van to put all that crap in.

    Go fly a kite!

    Centennial Harbor Marina

by grandmaR Updated Dec 3, 2006

The City of Fort Myers, which runs the Edison Ford Museum complex also owns a marina quite nearby. I have not stayed at or used this marina.

Their website says: "We boast of the largest floating breakwater on Florida's Gulf Coast with 131 Floating Slips to make access to your vessel easy independent of tide conditions. While the lunar tidal range is very small in this part of the world, Winter brings wind-driven (NE) low tides while Summer heralds wind-driven (SW) high tides making our Floating docks very desirable for easy boarding. Slips A & B accommodate live-aboard patrons."

    Wind Surfing is great here!

Good wind, clean water, and not that deep in many spots (for safety if you are just learning), this is the perfect spot.
