There's a dog beach on the south end of the island. Very cool! Note that there's a dog wash on Curlew Road just outside the park, so you can get all the sand and salt off your dog after your adventure at Honeymoon Island. The dog wash is co-located with a car wash, on the right after you exit the park.

At the concession stand inside the park, you can rent kayaks for $10 per hour for single kayaks, $20 for doubles. You can also rent by the day...I think $35. The rental is on the beach, so you'll be in the gulf when you put in. It is on the end of Honeymoon close to Caladesi, so you can paddle over the Caladesi.

Note that it is $8 per car to enter the park, or $4 for singles.

You can also rent kayaks on the causeway before you get to the state park, saving the $8 entrance fee. However, the rentals are $20 an hour for a single, $25 for a double. If you want to kayak on the inland waterway, this is the preferred location for rentals. It is also on the Caladesi end of Honeymoon Island, so you can easily paddle to Caladesi from here.

There are many natural areas on Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island, and the rattlesnakes like this environment. Be careful...don't go in the brush, and definitely don't snoop around in any cracks and crevices.
